Granny, I deserve the kidding, my geek coven would really be ashamed I missed that one if they found out.

Gabby, when you say "packed" how many men and guests are you talking about? What is the capacity of the room/space you are given to meet in? Which facility is that? Twin Rivers?

Sweetness, I am so excited for you, perhaps we can have a meet-up when you arrive in Monroe/Seattle for your visit.

Phil, that is YES to November 7 at 8pm, thanks for the invite.

Everyone, if any of you would like the link to my google photo album, just pm me and I will be happy to send you the link...Perhaps over time, there will be quite a range of scenarios to entertain us all. I'll have to run this by Todd, or he may have his merchandising attorney go after me for improperly marketing his image... = )

Have a good day, my friends,
Julie

Sweetness, wow, sounds like you're busy.
Phil, Hey, sounds great, but I won't be able to make it. I am sorry. We are making plans for a Winter get together weekend here at my home in Central Oregon. It will be the weekend of December 5th,. Anyone and everyone is invited. Right now, we have an Oregon member interested in coming and Seatlle. Just so you know, we are putting both states together, and hoping to have it be a fun weekend.
Seattle, you have been a big hit in the Oregon forum.
I am cross posting here. I posted this in the Oregon forum, requesting prayers for some health issues I have been having. But, I wanted to post in the Washington forum for my friends here. Gosh, it is heck to get old. I will totally butch this, I read somewhere a saying something about "When I die, I want to slide into Heaven with a body totally wore out, yelling -What a ride". Well, hopefully I have several years left, but my body is getting worn out from "the ride". It definately isn't a well preserved body that has been "sitting on the shelf". I hope everyone is having a good week.

Don't worry Ginger, you'll get a new body when you get there. One that won't wear out.

Granny, I have been praying for you these days, hope you notice some improvement !

Sweetness, what day are you coming in? I checked out the bus situation from Seattle to Monroe a while back and it is a tough one, almost impossible if you want to go there and come back to Seattle in the same day. Of course Greyhound is an option, but pricey... are you coming alone?

Be sure to check out the Matthew House for possible arrangements to stay. It is very close to all the Monroe Facilities, "Upstairs at Matthew House are three apartments that provide overnight accommodations to individuals and families who are traveling long distances to see a loved one."

PM me with details and if you kick in some $$ for gas, I can give you a ride out there....Let's explore this option via PM.

To all my NW friends... have a great day! Julie

When you check out the bus system from Seattle to Monroe go to CT Transit

http://www.communitytransit.org/BusS.../Schedules.cfm and http://www.communitytransit.org/BusS...?route=510/513 (Express service)

which is the Snohomish County transit system. They have regular commuter buses from downtown Seattle to Everett where you can transfer to the Monroe bus at the Everett Transit Center.

I would also like to recommend checking in to the car pool forum/thread, to see if there is anyone, if these other options don't work out.

I posted the GTG in Monroe at Dennys 11-7-09 @ 8PM in News and Events so more members will see it. If you plan to attend please post on it RSVP so we can see who's coming and if anyone needs a ride.

you can take the 174 bus to downtown seattle, then take greyhound (the 174 bus lets you off at Greyhound) to Everett and then there is a bus straight to Monroe. I will be at the dentist that day otherwise I would have been able to help. Maybe if you can get to Everett there will be someone to help from there. Are you staying at The Matthew House? That is a great place to stay and it free , donations accepted.

Happy All Souls Day to my NW friends! It is a glorious, sunny autumn day in Seattle. All is well here, my Halloween costume was a hit. I went as a Christmas present, bow and all. Thanksgiving, here I come!

How cute Seattle, a Christmas present! I never would have thought of that one. I did absolutely nothing, as my auto is broken at the moment. It goes to the auto Dr. tomorrow. Until then, I am not to drive it.

Yea, a sexy Christmas present... I have a silky, deep red kimonostyle wrap, -- shorty short -- but it has a neckline that would have passed prison inspection (high) and long sleeves to the wrist, so entirely tasteful, but it does show A LOT of leg.... I wore black hose, high heels and a nice white bow on a string of pearls around my neck. I had a 7x5 envelope with the words "Merry Christmas" printed on it attached to my wrist with a bracelet.

Here's the fun part. When guys would ask me if I was going to be their Christmas present, I asked them what their name was and looked in my envelope. Pretending to search a bit, I asked them if they were on Santa's naughty or nice list. If they said nice list, I stopped looking and said ," oh, your name probably isn't in here then" .... but not one of them said "nice". LOL

So sorry about your car Granny, what happened?

Granny.....Hopefully your wheels will get fixed quick and it wont cost you much. I know how hard it is to be without a car....went with one for 2 weeks awhile back. You just dont realize how much you depend on a car huh?

Im just sitting here drinking spiced....yes...spiced...not spiked...cider. Relaxing. Its really starting to feel like winter around here! Cold out tonight!

I'll bet if we beg, Phil and Nawna will tell us about the GTG....! Phil took pics! Come on .... : ) My contribution will be to say that we came up with some provacative threads to post here in WA and also nation wide, not trying to cause trouble, but just wanting to stimulate conversation.....

oh you go ahead I think we had a good time. Phil is full of info and Seattle118 is full of energy. Pics look good too, at least I don't look like I was drunk like the last pics made me look.

Yes, I am glad to report I am back amongst the computer users again. Sounds like that Halloween costume was a "big" success. Also, I wish I could have made it to the g2g. I would love to be able to meet up with everyone in person. Oh well, maybe another time. So, our winter g2g is for the weekend of December 5th. People are welcome to show up anytime that Friday and stay till Sunday. We'll accomodate according to who shows up when. I can't afford to feed a bunch of people long term, but we have the space, and will all work to do meals. Bring a dish or three, bring discussion of prisons, and bring some crafts to work on. If you want to come, send me a pm, so I can send you my address and phone number. Remember, I live in Central Oregon.

Hi everyone,

Greetings from Rainy Seattle. I just mapped out my holiday committments and am delighted to say the first thing I block off was the weekend of Dec. 5 so I can join GrannyG and the gang in Oregon. If any WA folks want a ride, I will leave from Seattle some time on Friday.... did I already post this? Hmmm. getting forgetful in my "old" age.

For the holidays, Monroe Special Offenders Unit has several special events in their visiting room. I am so proud to be from a progessive state... they take family seriously here.

Dec. 5 there is a special holiday meal, one adult for each inmate with good food not ususally available to prisoners including real brewed coffee.

On Dec 13 a special event for kids, one child and one accompanying adult per inmate. By providing the age and gender of the young guest, each prisoner can give a gift tagged as being from them.

On Dec 29, there is something planned TBA - probably new years oriented...

With his family in the area, everyone is going out so Todd will be able to particpate in all these events. After being exiled in the Feds for 10 years and not seeing anyone, this connection with family and friends is like a dream come true for Todd. I am so happy to be his friend and do my part. It's going to be a great holiday season at SOU.

My girls are doing well at UW, and I'll be getting together with them one on one for dinners a couple of times before the first of the year. I have dinner one on one so they can tell me what the other is up to! LOL

I hope I didn't already post this, I'll have to go back and check a few posts back... lol...

Julie

PS... now I know why it is so familiar... I made a similar post in the Oregon Lounge... Hahahahaha

" I just mapped out my holiday committments "

Ya, when you get older and your memory starts to slip its good to write things down. Just don't forget where you put those notes.
I put important stuff in safe places so I won't lose them, but too often I can't remember where that safe place is !!! The older you get the more notes we write to ourselves - but use "Post-It" stickies or I'll forget where I put those notes. lol...........

I have a big white poster board on my wall in my room with phone numbers and address's so I know where to find them. I lose all paperwork that walk in the door with me. i went to bed mad cause I couldn't find my honeys holiday package form and thought for sure my roommate hid it from me. I got up and the roommates were gone and I was gonna let them have it. So after I cleaned the living room I still could find it although I had put it next to the computer. Then out of the blue there it is in a box next to the table. How it got there I do not know.hmmm
