Hello ladies!

My boyfriend just told me that he got his state id number and picture taken today. About how long till he gets sent to CRAF? He says that his SBI number is the same one from when he did time before. But he has selective hearing so I don't know. Is that possible?

Yes, your SBI # once set is ALWAYS your SBI #. Whatever it had been previously, is what it will be now.

So about how long till he leaves? Im hoping next week after visits.

I'm not sure when he leaves, I think that all depends on the DOC. There isn't any set time. I called CRAF today to ask when Jim was being transferred to MYCF and they said "soon" but they can't tell me exactly when due to security issues. We were told the day before Jimmy got sent from county to CRAF that he was going because he got a physical. But I'm not sure how else you would know in advance, they are quick to switch it up on you.

Everyone is different its all about room and ect I know when my husband in there was guys in there already had the SBI number and were waiting to be sent to CRAF my hubby got his and then a bunch of them went up within a week so it also depends how many aready to go if they have room when the bus is moving out who knows what if the hold the key I cant stand the wait either but its part of the system and yes it sucks but best of luck to u

Yup my brother did time 5+ years ago and he is in now once again... dummy... but you keep the same # for life... no matter how many times you go in and out... and I am in AZ... I think they do that everywhere or else there would be BIZILLION numbers out there! :O)

it really depends on the county. the counties that arent too close to trenton wait till they have a decent amount of guys before transferring. my friend was sentenced the first week of august and is still in county. james transferred 19 days after sentencing. its normal for them to give him a state number and not transfer him for a while.

and yes, your state number is yours. i have a SBI number even though i've never been to prison. all my paper work from when i was in jail has my MCCF ID number and SBI number on them.

but yeah, the facilities are not supposed to tell you when a transfer will happen. its a huge security threat. the guys usually dont find out till the morning they leave. in our case we knew that his county (warren) did transfers on wednesdays...after being there for 13 months it was something he picked up on. so we basically knew every wednesday he didnt move that he had atleast a week to stay there.
