I feel for you, not knowing is pretty stressful. This new SB-18 stuff is really confusing things. Your man may, or may not, actually go to state. As I hear it, most (if not all) of the guys with a 3056 violation, getting a year or less, are going to stay at county. They'll get the 50%, but have to do their time in the county jail.

My husband did 3 mos ( he is getting out today per his PO) and he did his time in wayside, MCJ, and Twin Towers (they would just move him around ALOT). I kind of wish he had gone upstate (maybe he wouldve been released on 2/16 and not "looked over" by his Po)

I would think that with SP4 status, he will be going to reception. I'd guess that anyone staying in county wouldn't see SP4. I'm going to see if any of my contacts knows for sure, and I'll post if I find anything out.

Damn!!! It seems you guys have a lot of news on your man while I'm wondering what the heck is going on??? I told him to ask for his release date cause his po is not answering my calls or willing to answer me that question on his release....he was sentenced 180 days in county from another case he had and with the violation I'd figure he would go to prison and do both times there... But what a miracle it would be if he got out after those 180 days... I'm praying!

I'm reading and trying to learn...but a lot of it is still new to me.

One thing I can tell is that everyone seems to prefer leaving County for State if they've got any amount of time to do. Let's say hypothetically someone is sentenced to 1 year today. Would that person get out sooner if they went to state than if they stayed in County? (I know there are a lot of posts and threads on that topic but I'm still not understanding it....)

Also, I think people prefer going to state because conditions are better than in County. But if you're sentenced to a year, wouldn't it almost not matter? I'm saying that because I figure you'd be in County at least a month or two before being transferred (correct me if / when I'm wrong because I know I don't "get it" yet)

Then it's on to reception. I hear you can stay there a few months and reception is bad because there's no phone calls, it can take 5-6 weeks for a visitor to be approved and it pretty much sucks in reception.

So by the time you're done in County, done in reception - aren't you close to a release date anyway on the 1 year sentence?

Definitely tell me what parts I'm wrong about because I know I'm confused.

One more question - from LA County Jail are the 3 options for reception Delano, Wasco and Lancaster - or are there others?

There is also Chino, CCI, DVI & RJ Donovn. The last 2 are not usually used for LA though.

Vine Link only gives county jail information so it seems to me that March 1 is his release date. However, they may still be in the process of dealing with the parole hold which could change everything.

Sorry, I don't really have an answer. I can see why you're confused!

Actually he will probably not get any credit. A ten month parole violation will be served in it's entirety. It's different then a sentcene from the courts because with a one year sentence from the courts, the sherriffs have the discretion to release an inmate early for overcrowding. They do not have that discretion with parole violaters.

She told me her man got a year flat from parole but will do 65% of that time so why doesn't this apply to my man as well....
