Been at Graham for 4 weeks and still no word!

my husband has been at grahm r&c for 4 weeks and i am going crazy with no phone calls or visits. i miss him so much. all i get is maybe a letter a week. and he has only gotten like 3 of my letters and i write everyday. it is so frustrating.

It's the holidays and the mail service is usually slower than it is regularly but he will get them eventually and hopefully he'll be leaving r&c soon and you'll be able to speak to him. Like i said they slow down around the holidays as time goes by it will get better. Also for every letter you send calculate about a week for him to get it because they go through all incoming mail that's why the process is slower than outgoing mail because they don't test and read them all.

hello. my son is in grahm correction center. i live in bloomington, illinois. it takes them awhile to get the mail. my son has been their a few months now. i go see him once a month.

Yeah, Graham is really bad about being slow with processing inmates and sorting through mail. If he's in reception at Graham he's in the x-house he's pretty much cut off until he's moved to general population. Sometimes it takes a few months for them to be moved. And if money is short on his end, that may explain the lack of letters. Commisary in Illinois prisons are crazy expensive. Kinda makes it clear how broke tha state is. And they only get to order from commisary once every two weeks. It was pretty hard for me and my husband to get in the groove of how things work when he was sent there. But don't worry, it will get easier. I know it pisses ya off something fierce, but it'll pass in time. I learned that this is the part where relationships are really tested. It's hard, but ya gotta grit your teeth and get through it. And I'm sure that he's just as frusterated about Grahams bullshit as you are.
