Default Just a few questions/about the phone and mail

Ok, so I have been paying for 3 phone calls a day from CCCF for my man. I want to put $ on his account so the calls are a few dollars cheaper for when he hits main line. After I send the payment to them, how do I check to see if his account has been credited? Is that possible? And for Mag subscriptions how do I have the company address it? I'm getting just the sid number with his name would work because they move so much and the facility name changes. And he keeps asking for the local newpaper in our city. Do they still allow that? He doens't know. He's a little rusty sadly and I'm to new to this! Thank you!

  • You might call customer service at Customer Service 800-786-8521
Monday through Friday, 8am to 7pm. Have his SID# Handy. (or, if you're patient, Email info@vaci.com)
  • Magazines should be addressed:
Inmate Name (His committed name, not nicknames)
    SID, C/O (Whatever institution)
    Address 1
    City, State, Zip
  • The local paper is fine, but it usually has to be mailed, with the exception of daily Oregonian service at the Salem area institutions and Columbia River. Madras (DRCI) and Lakeview may also have daily paper delivery from papers local to those areas, but I'm not familiar with what's available there.

Be sure when you sign up for magazines, that you track down and make a list of the online customer service web-address. It's very easy (and quick) to change addresses on line, but pesky to remember where to go for what magazine, what your password and user name is, etc., etc. Just keep a list. When I was inside I got 15 or so. You might want to wait until he's situated at a regular institution, usually 60 days or less, before starting any magazines or newspapers. Hope this helps.

Mail will follow you wherever you go, although for magazines (4th class) it's not much of a priority so it takes a while for the mail room staff to get around to forwarding them.

As soon as he's moved you'll want to change the address(s).
