Cool Just out

I've been out now for 14 days, I was in TDCJ for the last 2 years. Thank God for my family, I dont know how I would have readjusted, I'm taking it one day at a time. Is it possible that someone might have heard of a letter for credit for time served? It seems that after all this state time I still have traffic tickets? Go figure...

I heard of it but from the sounds, I believe a judge has to give you that letter

Well that's a bummer!! I have heard of being given credit for time served while still inside.. but I'm not too sure how that works once you're already out. Hopefully someone will come along shortly, that might have some answers.

I have done that for my son while hes been in. I would get the County Clerks address for him that he had outstanding tickets ,etc.. He would write a letter to the Judge. I would send his conviction papers (court papers) to the clerk . I was calling back to check if the Judge gave him time served ...they all did.

there is a letter you can get from the law library in TDCJ that you sign and send to the county clerk where the ticket is from. I am trying to find one out here.

He wrote his own letters. I do remember one County sending him a plea paper to sign then the Judge gave him the time served. They all do it a little diff. I would call the County Clerks Office and ask them if you can just fax or mail your release papers.

The county clerks office should be able to help you file a motion and attach a copy of your paperwork to it.

i would call where your tickets are and explain you just got out and ask what you need to do. im sure your release certificate will work and they will drop the tickets.

by the way welcome home!

I have handled all that while my husband has been in on the inside. He gave me power of atty before going in. So I could handle anything that came up and for the safety of his son....I don't know how it works if you are already out. Let us know what you find out.... Thanks in advance!!!!

Welcome home brother. i've been out for six months now, life is good. and ya there are letters for time served i took care of them while i was in tdc. what i recommend is to take your parole/discharge papers and talk to the judge and try to get time time served. i have heard of people doing that. but welcome home man
