We're engaged!!

So I had a pretty stressful day today. Something unexpectedly came up that could be a bad thing for us, or it could be not such a big deal. So we're just waiting to find out what goes on with that.

So I was just venting and freaking out to Greg on the phone about it and he was reassuring me and letting me know that everything will be fine and that any stuff we might have to go through, we'll do it together and that's all that matters.

Well we get 30 minute calls and the first one was all about this stressful incident, so Greg called a second time. We finished the talk about the other stuff and then started talking about us and what we wanted in life. we've had tons of conversations about marriage and kids and know that it's what we want with each other.

But tonight we were talking about exactly when we wanted to start our family and what circumstances were delaying it(money, stability, parole, etc.). We both came to the conclusion that we want to start as soon as we get on our feet and are in a stable place financially.

Then he said well when I get out I am going to get you a ring, get down on one knee, and ask you the right way.. but right now I just want to know.. will you marry me? and I giggled a little(because i wasnt sure if it was more of us just talking about that stuff or if he was actually asking me) and he said "im serious.. will you marry me chelsea?" lol of course i was like yessss!

Then he just kept calling me his fiance and when he said bye he said goodbye my fiance, my future wife.

It was just really nice and exciting! I can't wait until he gets out and does it the "normal" way, but for now this is just perfect for me! I just can't believe i'm engaged!

I almost want to shout it out and tell my family and gregs family and stuff! lol is that what i would normally do? since hes in prison and doesnt really talk to them? do i tell them this?

anyways thanks I'm just really happy!

Once again, CONGRATS CHELS!!! I bet that made your day and night just so much better!!! And i say go for it, Like i said in that thread earlier, it doesnt really matter when when how or why, you get engaged or married or anything, all that matters is that you carry his name proudly and you love eachother!! Who cares what others think!!

If you feel right to tell them all, i say go for it!!! Because at the end of the day all that matters is what you and him want!

Thanks guys I am so freaking excited right now!!

I talked to one of his brothers who was really happy and said Congrats! Along with his youngest brothers girlfriend who was really happy for us

And i called my best friends in CA and they were so excited! my best friend, me, and her mom are all engaged right now!

And last but certainly not least.. i just got off the phone with his mom.. she was soooo happy! she was overjoyed and told me she would love to have me as a daughter and that she is so happy for us!!!

I havent gotten a hold of my dad yet but i'm not worried about that As for my mom, she can find out on her own or some other way.. i have no desire to start talking to her again for this.

CONGRATS !!!

My only advice on sharing the news is make sure you let him tell some people if he is that type .. it's a big deal for him also and his oppurtunities to share are a lil less than yours !!

lol you are probably right! But i couldnt help myself! lol ive pretty much told all the main people. his mom was ecstatic! my dad and step-mom were very happy for me

I'll let him tell his dad because I have no desire to call him. blah

but no, knowing Greg he would rather me tell people anyways lol. he'll just be happy to hear all the responses we got from our friends and family

Sorry, didn't read down for enough to know you had already shared ... it's such exciting news, I know I told everyone before he had the question outta his mouth ! And I didn't think, but he gets to celebrate with his boys in there ... so he gets to share too !!
