Unhappy Husband headed to Bastrop FCI

Hello, I am new to all of this so all the information you could provide would be so helpful.

My husband leaves to go to bastrop Feb 15 2010. What is it like? How are the sleeping arrangements? Also, please help me with visitation. I read the regulations but what does special visitation mean and are there private rooms where just me and him could meet? Any information that helped you, or you think would help me (his wife) would be great. Thank you so much for your help.

Hi, I noticed you posted this here, which probably isn't the right forum to get the answers you are looking for, so I searched for info on Bastrop, and if you go to the Federal Prisons Forum, and then scroll down to the bottom where it says "Other Federal Prisons", then go into that page, and scroll to page two. Near the bottom of that page there is a thread about Bastrop (last post was made 11/22). I would have posted a link but it won't let me. Hope that helps.

Is your husband headed to the FCI/Low or to the FPC/Camp side? I was at the Camp for 6 months, learned a little about the "inside" but not a lot. Do know it is WAY overcrowded, the original cells built for 1 inmate now house up to 3 (bunks 3 high). Controlled movement of course. UNICOR operates kitting out Border Patrol vehicles. Medical is not so good, and if he needs dental work, please.. get it done outside. We campers shared the same medical and dental "services" so on that score, I do know whereof I speak :-)

Good luck, you can ask me any question you want and I'll try to answer as best I can. JT
