Default Organizations for Change

Hi, I have just recently been introduced to the criminal system through that of a loved one. I have seen a world that I never dreamed existed before this. I want to do all I can to make a difference in laws that need to be changed. I have joined every national organization I can find. I am looking for organizations that I can attend and work with in Texas. I know there is CURE. Does anyone know of any others that have at least branches in Texas? You can respond to me here or PM me if you desire.

CURE stands for "Citizens United for the Rehabilitation of Errants". This is from their website: "Citizens United for Rehabilitation of Errants (CURE) is a grassroots organization that was founded in Texas in 1972. It became a national organization in 1985." If you want more information, go to their website: http://www.curenational.org/cms/. There is a chapter in Texas and they are also the ones who do the fan project for indigent inmates. Speaking of which, we need to get on top of that earlier this year.

There is also FAMM (Families Against Mandatory Minimums) and TIFA (Texas Inmates Family Association). If you are against the Death Penalty, there is also NCADP (National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty) with a chapter in Texas (TCADP). I get several e-mails and updates from them, tho I haven't been able to attend one of their marches or anything. There are a lot of prison organizations in Texas and nationwide.
