Paying for phone on internet How Long?

My husband told me to start putting the phone for our pre-pay phone account online instread of accepting collect from him. He says that we'll save money because it doesn't charge that 5.00 fee like on the phone. Well I was wondering if anyone has used this, and if so how long does it take before it is added and he can call me. He's at Cummins in Arkansas

I use it, and usually it takes 1 to 3 days.Usually, he tries calling before he gets the slip that says he's got money on his phone, and he can get through the day after i put it on there. If he waits for the slip, it takes a few days more.Hope this helps!
