I'm tired of wearing those same pants every week. I only have one pair because I don't wear pants. This week I am going to try a dress. We'll see how that works out. I'm bringing pants to changed into

My visit was nice today. Wonderful in fact. I said good morning to Miss Malpica and as always she was pleasant but then I said goodmorning to Dixon and she smiled and said good morning back. Amazing right. When the lady in front of me did not meet the dress they were nice about how they told her and explained to her what to get and where to get it. I feel like I am in the twilight zone. I managed to not PO anyone today. How cool is that

There was a code on the floor. I guess it worked out well though they came back smiling.

My boyfriend's at SSCF and is supposedly going into the TC program soon. He goes in for reclassification on Wednesday. I'm hoping he'll get moved before Sunday, which is the next time I can visit, so we get more time! But that's probably wishful thinking...

Thanks for the info :-) Two questions, though. 1) Having done medium-security visits at SSCF, is the numbering/lining up/registration process for TC similar to that? Do the CO's distribute numbered slips at all? Should I be there well over an hour early to ensure that I'll get my full visit? And 2) Where, exactly, is the TC area? Is it that place on the grounds of SSCF, but labeled "Bayside"?

Hi jasmine29! I hate to burst your bubble, but once he does get reclassified, he then has to wait for a bed to open up in the TC program to be moved there. My fiance had to wait a good 2 months before being moved! And right now they are very full because they took in all of the inmates from Riverfront in the TC program.

Your questions:
  1. When you visit at the TC program, when the doors open at 9:30am you walk in and take a numbered registration paper. Since the TC program is now pretty full to capacity and the camps at SSCF are too, visiting has become very busy. So you have to be there at least an hour before hand to make sure you get in before count, otherwise you have to come back after count, which is 12:00noon. BTW, there are a group of women who keep track of who pulls up first in their cars so you don't have to wait in line in the sun, rain, or cold! If everyone plays nice, it really is a help.
  2. The TC program is across from Compound A, the building with the blue roof. Much nicer facility and much nicer visit hall! Longer visits too!
Good Luck!

hey.. my baby was just transferred there too.. from what I hear it's a lot better there.. I went to visit for the first time this past sunday.. don't wear anything too tight or revealing. also avoid white or tan shirts .. I had on a grey shirt and some ladies suggested I change cause grey is no good either. I went to the afternoon visit. my boo said to get there by 11:45 and I got there by ten n that still wasn't early enough I suggest getting there like nine thirty so u can line up and get a number.. I was number 26 n got a decent visit.. the lower the better... bring change for lockers n such.. um. no flip flops!!! no high heels.. bring something to occupy urself...your waiting outside for a long time lol... any other questions feel free to ask and I'll try my best to help! it's nice to talk to some one who is also at sscf where do u drive from?

Thanks, everyone!!! My boyfriend got transferred to TC last night. I'm thanking our lucky stars that it was so quick. Our Sunday visit was Compound B as usual but next time I'm in NJ.... all day.... hell yes :-) I might have to fly up (I live in GA for now) just for that privilege!

TC stands for Therapeutic Community - It is a substance abuse program. 9-12 months usually.

Meri, you will not believe how wonderful the visits are at the TC program at SSCF! You would be soooooooooo happy! By the time J gets there we will probably be at a halfway house, so I won't get to see you at visit. But you certainly will appreciate the visits there! Out of all of the places I have been for visits, this has been the best. He just needs to get full minimum now. Hopefully, that won't be long.

I hope everyone gets there as soon as possible... then we can have PTO parties in the parking lot when we're all there at the crack of dawn waiting for visits :-)

My boyfriend is in TC now! His family went to visit him last weekend and said it was a breeze, and they got to spend 4 whole hours with him. Oh my gosh, I can't wait. I got into school in Philly ( ) so I quit my job and can move back North next month. Then I will try to see him every weekend. Soooo excited!!!
