We did'nt make parole this go round So now we have to do the rest of our time. That's o.k. though, He comes home in 28 months. I still go to see my husband every Saturday. Thank everyone for all the prayers. I still pray for all of you guys. If anyone ever needs a ride to the powledge unit, please let me know I will do everything I can to help. I know how important it is to get to see our loved ones!!!!!

So sorry to hear that you guys didn't make parole ;[

Stay strong though you don't have much longer to go 28 months will come and go quickly. Stay strong and keep your head up and I'm not from the Powledge Unit but I am a Prison Wife and I know how this is - we were given a set off last year so another 6 more months to go.

I'm sorry that things didn't go as you hoped they would Christine but glad you are holding up so well. As you know both our guys were supposed to make parole around the same time from Powledge but Big Poppa isn't coming home yet either.
The doctors there after a lot of hounding on my part along with a lot of intervention from my brother who BTW happens to be a Legal Asst. working for one of Houston's top notch attorneys was finally seen and found to have stomach cancer. They transferred him to Hospital Galvaston for surgery and removal of the tumor and scheduled him for 4-6 months of chemo. Since he is currently under going chemo he can NOT be paroled until he is done and given a clean bill of health. TRANSLATION: His parole hearing has been deferred until at least Jan.2011.
I thank goodness he wasn't denied outright but heaven knows that as a wife and nurse I would rather have him home with us during this trying time instead of there in T.D.C. Not only was he back and forth from the hospital to Powledge but they did so via the "tour of Texas" method and it was a nightmare. He is currently housed on the Darrington Unit which lets him avoid all the long bus trips and having to wait wherever between them but it also prevents me from seeing him as often as I would like. They say once his chemo is complete he will be back in Powledge again.
Sorry for venting in your thread; I needed that. I posted to say hang in there and I hope time passes fast for you two. Best Wishes, Marcia
