My man is in VA and he is just able to email. From what I understand it costs 5 cents per minute which equates to like 3.00 an hour so its not that bad. I am excited about being able to respond to him quicker. it would be great if I could catch him online and we could basically chat for a bit. however, I bet it will take forever for them to receive. I'm sure there is some sort of filter that the emails must go through first. It couldn't be that easy! lol

some missouri prisons DO have the jpay option. Some do not. For instance my hubby was at diagnostic at ERDCC thier he could get emails and even attachments like pics. He has since been moved to WRDCC to do his 84 day "treatment" and they sadly do not have email.

The cool thing about the JPay is he got them within 24 hours... If the prison your loved one is in has the email the option will automatically appear when you log in. you have to buy "stamps" at 50 cents per stamp. They charge one stamp per page and one per attachment. they do allow you to change the font size to fit more on each page... my usual 5-6 page two sided letters usually ended up being less than 2 pages on the medium font. My guy said he gets the pics in black and white but they turn out good.. he likes it. to be honest he got allot more mail that way. but i am trying to improve. I go through weeks of writing everyday and then suddenly nothing for a week. I keep money on my phone though so he can call as often as he is able

I'm in San Diego and they have a website "Who's in Jail"...if you find who you are looking for and click on their name for their booking info there is a link to email an inmate. You can do it once a day up to I think 34 lines of information. They can't email back. The email is printed and given to the inmate the next morning. I've used it...found a friend of mine was in there and I emailed him, told him to write me and got a letter from him 4 days after!!

www.jpay.com is the website that you can go on too look to see if you loved ones are able to get email.

Texas has had email for quite sometime. Just login to jpay as you would to send money and if he is able to recieve emails you will see that option appear for him
