Happy October and positive thoughts to all. Hope everyone is well and happy.... My son is moving out to his own place today, starting his own life adventure I'm proud of him My baby girl turned 18 yesterday and she got the flu for her B-day I thought it was kind of ironic here we are 18 years later at the hospital all over again. My man is doing good, he is slowly healing, and is out of the infirmary, still waiting to see if he is going to have surgery. Visits still not approved but I am hopeful I will win this appeal and get in sometime soon
Life is good Hope it is for all of you Lifer Lovers as well.

Happy October, everyone! I hope this month goes great for everyone. I have plans to do something wonderful for my grandmother, for her birthday. It involves going to Las Vegas! It's also my grandfather's birthday, this month, but I'm not quite sure what I should do for him, yet. He isn't much interested in the show I want to take her to. He's much harder to "shop for." LOL

I'd like to go see my guy again, this month. I don't know if it's possible, yet, though. We shall see!

Have a fantastic October, everyone!

For many years mid September has been the beginning of a rough ending to the year.... However, now for the first time, I've enjoyed all of September and have looked forward to October - November and December ((the Holidays are roughest for our family)) but I have a feeling this year will be full of reasons to smile and laugh in love and peace.

I wish you all the same ~ smiles, laughter, love, joy and peace.

It feels like I was just posting for September. I have made it through my first month of law school and work. So far, so good. My lifer finally got charged with something. He got 60 days segregation. He should be out soon. I will be going back to NC in November. I want to try to get an extended visit since I am so far away now. I hope everything is going well for everyone else. <3

I hope everybody had a great summer! Autumn is so beautiful over here in Germany. I finally had the courage to leave one of my jobs (the one I hated more...ha ha) and try my luck at a job that I really like (but that does not make as much money). I`m planning to visit him again next spring which gives me enough time (hopefully) to save the money for the trip to the States. We have to talk about so many things, the most important one of course is my wish to have a baby in the near future, how we are going to handle the whole situation etc.
Things are going so well right now especially in terms of communication.....aaaaaaaaah....I love this man....he has no idea how much...!!!!
I hope you are all having a great month of October filled with visits, letters, good conversations and other positive things in your lifes!
love,
Sandra

hi Sandra: thats great you can see him in the spring, plenty of time to plan all the good things.

Does your man, know about you wanting to have a child or children and how do you think he will take this news? maybe you can prep him in the upcoming months, so this won't be a shock to him. Either way, i wish you the best & good luck!!

Sorry for writing off topic:
Yeah, we have been discussing this for months now and have come up with the weirdest conclusions. The final decision is not made yet. That`s why we need to talk in person. He is handling it in a very realistic and responsible way though. I know we find a way and we won`t lose each other - never.

September was a difficult month, I lost an exceptional young man, my 26 year old nephew in a car accident. His family is in S Carolina and since I was able to take the time I spent a few weeks there.

Lifer sees the board in two weeks. This is his denovo hearing, to be followed by a regular board appearance either in November or December. We are both equally nervous and talk about everything but parole; and we do this up to 4 times a day.

October is my favorite month (well, I sort of like February also......). I don't know what it is like in other parts of the country but here in the North East it is absolutely vibrant.

Wishing you all a wonderful October

Well a little scare this evening. Lifer called with news that he received a letter from the facility parole officer stating his hearing this month was to be a 'reappearance' and not a de novo hearing as previously thought. I only allowed him 10 minutes of foul language before I told him I was hanging up and calling the attorney.

You have to love email and workaholics; counsel for NY Division of Parole was in his office and recieved the email and responded immediately that there was *confusion* and he would make the call to the facility in the morning that indeed Lifer will have his 'special consideration' and his reappearance will be in November or December. Whew!!!!!!

I am anxiously awaiting his call back.......gotta love good news for a change.

I love October partly because it is the month of my birth but mostly because of the beautiful weather and all the colors. Lifer is in the hole for an investigation on why he got sucker punched W.T.H. ask the punk that did it. So he is being all Heathcliff (morose and brooding) He hates sitting in shackles and being seen in them so I won't be visiting as often. Someone has been breaking into my house you would think with two dogs and close neighbors they wouldn't but they have at least twice. They took my leather and one of my harley shirts. Now mind you I have a laptop, digital camera, camcorder, blueray and a few other misc big ticket items and they don't take them, no they take my clothes. The leather I am not sure on how long it has been gone since I haven't worn it since March but the shirt has been taken in the last week. So I make sure everything is locked up each and every time I leave. I guess nothing is safe. I hope October is treating everyone well.

I'm BACK. I have my own apt now and while I don't have internet yet, I can get on line at the local star bucks. It is amazing to me just to have a tiny efficiency apt to call my very own, I'm so happy! I love it. Nothing like being homeless for a while to give a gal a new appreciation for the little things. Everything is great with Rob, he is back to working in the kitchen again and this means that at least he will get enough to eat. I get to see him on a regular basis again which still seems a little bit unreal, I'm still a little shell shocked and I worry because I'm still not used to things being so good. Sometimes it's hard to just let go and enjoy the fact that everything is going good without worrying about what might happen next, but I'm trying. Happy fall everyone!

October has arrived!! YAY!
Lamont told me it's starting to turn a bit chilly up yonder-I was asking him will he be okay, since he has no coat (the prisoners stole the last one he had). He told me not to worry-but it's not a real thing to me if I'm not the least bit concerned.
As for me, I'm with my mama on her couch. My ceiling fell in and there was no staying there for me or the kids. My daughter's not having her baby (which we found out will be a GIRL) until December and as for me finding another place-I'm in between financial blessings at this point.
Being on my mama's couch makes me miss my one bedroom place all the more, I tell you what (in my Hank Hill voice).
Welcome to the terrordome, newcomers and keep ya heads up, veterans!
Delphine

Hello ladies,

I hope you're all having a great month, me i'm happy that the weather is finally nice enough that I can spend the afternoons outdoors with my babies. It's been a while since i've been here, i've missed all of you ladies, your wonderful advise and support. I'm very happy to be back. My honey has been in the hole for the past four months, still not to clear on the whole situation but hopefully we'll get to have our normal visits back and clear up some misunderstandings. It's been nothing but window visits, no phone calls, mail running slow on my end and even slower on his end, so he's been getting kind of worked up about it, but that's alright it's understandable that with all the free time on his hands and too much time to sit and think, his mind starts to wonder. But I got a letter last week saying that he finally received my letters. He said he got about 6 one day and 8 the next, along with some cards and pictures. So i'm smiling from ear to ear right now. I can't wait to hold him in my arms again. It's been a rough few months, I just need a hug...hopefully soon.
Have a great day ladies.

Just checking in here.....I am recovering from a procedure I had done yesterday. I had sworn to myself that never again would I go near a surgery but.....female issues. Hopefully what I had done will eliminate having to live on pain pills. I can so understand how people become addicted to prescription pain pills.

Kendra, congrats on finding your own place. It might be small, but its yours. That must be awesome after everything you've been through.

Well I'm heading back to bed....I am holding all of us up in prayer.

JKB - I am holding you in my thoughts that you have a quick and 'painless' recovery. Surgery sucks the big one.

Kendra - Kudo's to you for finding a place to hang your hat, and life is back on track with you and Rob.

LamontLover - Sure hope no one was under that ceiling and hope you find a place soon...unless of course Mama is treating you so good you don't want to leave.

CJ - I have been wondering where the hell you were. They are telling us that the economy is turning around....hope you are an example and get a job soon.

chunky - You sound so much better!!!! Hope you never lose that 'twisted sense of humor'. What can you do but chin up and smile

caribbean - Autumn is my favorite time of year. Here in Upstate NY it is already 35 F at night....don't know what that is in celcius but it is cold. Communication is always the key and I know when you get together in the spring you will come to a solution you can both live with.

peach - Miss you and your thoughtful posts. Yes this is the beginning of the end of another year bringing us all closer to our goals.

lovingkm - Gosh I don't know if I could ever manage to go back to school, damn I dropped out of adult education cooking classes because there was too much home work....LOL.

To all others new and old to Loving A Lifer, I hope life is treating you well, the mail runs swift and phone calls and visits are plentiful.
