My son is in marion prison does anyone have someone there ?

my son buckie or bhop as hes called is there; its a step up the prison chain from what i can see i want him to finish his time there thay have been good to him he was starved to 89 lbs when thay got him and hes 220 now thanks to marions care i wish you well peace

My man served some time there. It wasn't too bad and they were nice during the visits there. He'll be ok LOL.

I was noticing that the two top people (warden and assistant at Marion) are women. I guess this has a humanizing effect on the place. Go figure It also seems to only take level 1 and level 2 inmates, which means no one too violent, disturbed, or disruptive probably ends up there. As prisons in Ohio goes, it sounds pretty good.

My friend is in the process of being sent somewhere else from Toledo and I hope he ends up in Marion. If he happens to wind up there, I'll post an update on the conditions. The parenting programs for dads look very promising and my friend has a young child so I'm hopeful about that.

My husband was at NCCI a few years ago. It has changed since then. There have been killings there - but there is not a woman warden there. Visiting officers are extremely nice.

If you are referring to Marion Correctional the warden is a woman. Not very clean. It is an older institution, not as violent as NCCI. Older inmates there and not so many fights. I don't like the way they make the visitors stand outside until they are ready to begin processing especially in the colder weather.

Yeah I was referreing to Marion Correctional. The safety factor is a big issue for my friend and I guess he's prefer the more sedate environment. He's kind of older to begin with (mid to late 30's ) and well educated and mature. Doesn't get into trouble and prefers avoiding those who do.

Brant is at NCCI. He's been there since August. He doesn't mind it too much. They have an open camp, which is nice. There have been a lot of fights since he's been there and a couple stabbings. But he stays away from it pretty well.

The visits there are good. They're all day, 8:30-3:30, and the COs are pretty nice, as far as I've been able to tell. The lady who checks us in is really, really nice and is always so helpful. Some of the COs that watch seem a little crabby but there's one lady that is really funny. She even warned us once when Brant was talking to his friend and she winked at us and whispered "they'll get on you for that." I thought that was pretty nice.

If you're going to visit for the first time, make sure you have a $5 bill. You have to have one to get the debit card from the machine. A $20 or $10 won't work. I didn't have one my first time and I was freaking out, but the lady helped me. She said they aren't supposed to but since it was my first time, she did.
