Since someone here got me going to unpack all the christmas stuff and get going on it.I came up with my idea thus far. years ago in kindergarten my son made me a reindeer out of a toilet paper roll at school. All these years I have kept it along with the items he made for Christmas each year. The reindeer actually slips right over the candlelight.. so he is with me more. I also taped lightly the christmas art things he has made me all those years to my mirrors and kitchen cabinets. So he is here with me all around me as I cook as I am watching TV and all..... Just thought I would share this idea.

Ladies, I've worked on those lights and worked on them and it seems that I will be in the search for quite some time to come. The sidewalk lights refuse to burn unless I am standing there cussing them, yep, you read that right. So am taking the blue bulb out of the left side and putting it in right next to the red bulb on the right side, dah...if my brain wasn't locked up in the head jail, I wouldn't be able to find it either....so....in the boxes of things I've hung onto for way too many years, I have 4 of the candle lights that you can set on a window cil, each one of them have three candles on it. So I pulled them out, and Lacy says, "mom, you could put these in your windows and keep them up all the time, and it would be perfect for your blue and red bulbs" (I'd told her why there was a blue and a red bulb in the sidewalk run) So, because there is not a receptacle close enough to accomadate these, I decided that I would share. So I took and replaced one bulb with a red one, one with a blue and one with a gold...sent this over to son's house and there it shines....One for the Lord, one blue for our sons, and one really hot pink for our daughters who are away, and in their honor.

with folks decorating earlier and earlier...I am bringing up our blue light posts so that more of you can get on the bandwagon this year. The blue bulbs are already in the stores...and yes, I still have a blue bulb burning all year long as my night light to remind me of those in prisons and jails.

Thanks for tracking down this thread, Jancy! The only decorations I've put out the past couple of years have been my blue candles in the window and I expect this year will be no different. I have a blue night light in my office too!

This last Christmas I had my man go buy blue Christmas lights for outside of the house. You really cant see lights in our windows...we sit off the road. Is that the same ladies? I sure hope so I am going to take picture this year and send it to my son.

yep, the concept is that "I'll have a blue Christmas without you"
no one can see my blue night light year round but me and BF, but at Christmas the blue goes out where everyone else can see it too.

Well Its funny I was just staring at the blue light in my office and for the pink light in my window for Jenn...and I thought wow its been a year almost and they havent burned out being on 24/7...I do have to remind myself to buy back up light so when they do burn out I can replace them
This will be the 2nd holiday season with out Jenn.... the good side is only 3 more to go
Of course I am praying and keeping the faith that God will bring her home sooner

I love this idea, Jancy. I wasn't going to decorate at all this year, but now I'll definitely be putting out some blue lights.

Blue light is a good idea........my son is not in jail yet but most likely will be when he goes to court for a probation violation nov 14th....... I can put it right next to the yellow ribbon ( one son is in afghanistan the other on the streets with a court date for a pv)
