Default Dont they usually get a free envelope?

I know that the people on my states forum might know more but that place is dead haha. Anyway dont most states give the inmate a free envelope once in a while if they have no money on their books? I ask because I havent gotten a letter in almost 2 months now. I know part of that is my fault cuz I havent sent him any money. I just figured he would have found a way to contact me by now, even if it was borrow an envelope or possibly have someones wife call me. Idk what to think really.

I know some places do but not sure if every place does. You should send him some writing material like paper, envelopes and stamps! Usually they do trade for envelopes or if someone's nice enough to give him one.

I did read it around here, but not all states seem to do that. they can trade of course, but they still need to have something they can trade.

Sure hope you hear something soon!

The jail and receiving unit my husband was in did this, the prison he is in doesn't do this...I think it depends...also where he is I can't mail anything like envelope or paper in (god I wish I could though). Maybe you can just keep writing him and letting him know how worried you are and he needs to get in touch with you some how just so you know he is okay.

you can call the prison mail room and see if the give indigwnt prisoners a free envelope or not you can also see if that prison allows writing packages and if so what are you allowed to send in. Many states do not allow a writing package.
