They usually will keep them for a month or two and then send them back if he is going to be much longer.

The only ones that have to go before a parole board are the ones with indefinate sentances like 15 to life or things like that.
If he was serving a set term with a percentage he does not go befoe the board. 6 years with half, 80% or 85%. No parole board.

Congradulations the time will at times fly by and at times go like a backwards snail.

The date can change IF he gets into trouble and has a 115 write up. High control, depending on his parole agent, may not leave on a Friday or Saturday, as they have to report in within 24 hours. Some agents give them a little more leaway. They will also recalculate his date at least 3 times in the last month to be sure there were not any errors in any calculations from the start of his time in. There have been people that have had to stay longer because of errors but that is not that often. Again good luck.

No rules on dress outs other than just 1 each item. Shoes, socks, undershirt, underware, pants, shirt & belt. Take all tags off and do not include anything else. They can be new or something from his closet.

New info...The dress-outs cannot be sent more than 30 days in advance anymore and you must be there by 7:30 am to pick them up. My man just got done posting the bulletin in there for that.

Yup. You check in early, then they start the release process.
Most guys release through the front visiting center between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

If you fail to show at opening time, they won't process him until the afternoon

I'm amazed anyone eats or sleeps much as time gets close.
Best of everything to all who have loved ones coming home soon.

I have a few questions now that it is almost time...I was wondering if I can where whatever i want to pick up my man, if anyone knows what the weather will be like the last few days of March, and also if anyone knows when the counselors recalculate and check for holds? My man said its around 20 days, 10 days, then 24 hours before but he wanted me to check for sure. Thanks for any input!!

I am sorry you didnt get a response. Our resident expert, Sylvia, has been a bit under the weather, but she should be checking in this weekend, and she will know for sure! You ask a really great question, and I would like to know as well =)

As far as what you wear when you pick up a parolee:
As you are not going into the prison, you are not restricted by the dress code. Just keep in mind this is a government facility.

As far as time re-calc....you'll probably have to wait for Sylvia no matter which thread you put it in.

Ive looked and looked. I know Ive seen it before, but Im not sure either. I know they recalulate (sp) several times prior to release. One would imagine it would be as you/he suggest.
I wish I could be of more help.

Hi everyone. I am a bit better. They do recalulate several times. The schedule you have is pretty accurate. They can even change it on the day of release but that is pretty slim. If the inmate has not been in any trouble with 115's or anything like that the date doesn't change hardly at all. My son's changed by 3 days (later) over the 3 years but not in the last year.

My BF's release date is 3/3/11, then he got a 115 for 2 A-days missing work in the kitchen..they served him the 115 and told him he would have to make up the 2 days which would put him out on the 5th..he called me last week and said he went to see his counselor and she advised him that the 115 was not on record and he would be released as planned on 3/3/11, however his bunkie called me Tuesday night and told me that my BF had gotten his phone and store privileges taken away due to the 115 in lieu of them keeping him the 2 extra days and that he would still see me on the 3rd..i have already booked my room for the 2nd so i can be up there early on the 3rd to get him and take him home, and i have already got 2 days 3rd adn 4th off of work..do you think i have anything to worry about or will my baby still be out on the 3rd..it is too late to get mail now and since he can not call im kind of freaking out..ive talked to his counselor but she wont tell me anything, if you have any info that would help me id appreciate it..thank you

The phone call you got from his bunkie sounds right. They do not have to take days away and can only take benefts away. You can try callling the councelor and verify the date. Sometimes they will tell you and others not. Ask someone to tell him to send you his copy of the resolution of the 115. Good luck, he should be home on the 3rd.
