They would probably put him in the release group for 1pm to go to the bus station. I have seen when people come in late to pick up they will do a late release at around 1pm to the family. But you can call to verify if they still do this. Otherwise they take them to the bus station in Bakersfield.

I know of 2 bus stops. One by Kmart and one by the Moble station just after the first light when you leave Tehachapi.

I do not remember the name of the bus line. I think they take to the main Greyhound station in Bakersfield. Hopefully someone else will come along that has acutually used the bus service.

That is why I went and spent the night at the motel. I was still almost late. When I left my room and locked the door with the key inside on checkout, I didn't realize that my purse was still in there with my ID until I got to the prison. Broke speed records to go back and have them open the door so I could get it.

Naw, don't leave it in the car...

put everything in your purse/whatever the night before and hang it on the door knob...you cannot leave your room without it.

As soon as you finish getting ready, put all your bags, etc in front of the door, you cannot open it to leave without picking them up.

I've been told they come visit AFTER release once your man has checked in at parole.

My son is scheduled to be released in August 2011. He is 8 hrs from home. Does the prison put him on a bus back to his home and if they dont, and he doesnt have a ride out of Tehachapi, what happens

They will put him on the bus. He has to buy his bus ticket from the $200.00 gate money they give him.

nope. your family member is required to tell you everything.
Just be there no later than @ brite and early for when the doors open to check in. if you aren't there, they won't start to process him until the afternoon.

Depends on the type of release.
Most yes. But certain types of high control, they will come to the house to pre-approve it and again after he is released to be sure he really is there.

If more detailed questions and parole answers there are PIO's available.
See link below for their info and state parole offices.

This again is kind of like getting in at visiting.....All at the judgement of the officer, The PO in this instance. My best friend was high control and all his PO did was ask the address, she knew where it was and it was within the rules of his stipulations so she didn't come out till the following week. So as with everything to do with the DOC it is different for everyone.

Default How does release work

My fiancé is getting out June 19. As the time is getting closer I would like to know if anyone knows what time I would have to be there to get him. I live 3 hours away so I need to plan this day ahead. Thank you. I have no idea how pick up works.
