TRCI will close afternoon visiting one hour early, Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011. Visiting is scheduled from 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.

WHY?? Please say its just for that day and not permanatly? It goes by so fast as it is..

my son is new to TRCI and we want to see him this weekend. he filled out the paperwork for us...but how do we find out if we've been "approved" as visitors? i don't want to set myself up for a 7 hour round trip for nothing....

Hello... Your son will be notified when someone is approved to his visiting list. Although, It is taking 3 to 4 months to process the visiting applications right now

i'd call his counsellor and have him/her check for you.

but i think if you call visiting services and explain your situation--how far you're travelling to see your son, that they may be able to expedite your approval. from what i understand, they've been able to assist families when they're coming from so far away.

good luck.... i hope you get your visits!! and if you do get to go--have a safe trip and enjoy your time with your son!!!

3-4 months to process?!!! That seems outrageous!! i know my sweetheart put in his mom's application in late december (just before xmas) and she was approved within a few weeks and has already been to visit.
