I finally got a letter from my guy. The way he's making it sound, they are going to be locked down for a while. Let's hope not, but it's not looking good. I hope this year is easy on all of us! Stay strong ladies!!

Hello Ladies I just received a letter from my boyfriend,he said they might be on lock-down anywhere from 4-6 months I hope not.

we were both super excited it was gonna be our first contact visit!
he got arrested february 27th 2010 and then 2 days later i found out i was pregnant, my first baby and i didn't have him around...
i got a letter frm him that he wrote the 26th and hes stressed out cuz he hasn't heard my voice and i feel the exact same way :/

I got a letter from my son and he said the same thing. Lockdown 4-6 months or longer. I havent seen him for almost 1 yr and he calls every three days but christmas eve no phone call. CCA SUCKS .

This LD sucks! I am so happy I went to see my hunnie early in December, but I was planning on going for both our birthdays in Feb. I really hope for all our sakes that this isn't as bad as all the guys are saying it's going to be!! Just stay strong and remember that the LD will have to end eventually! It's a new year...lets pray for a swift and happy year to pass and bring good things to us all!

@ Steph...I'm so sorry you had to go through that without him! It must have been so hard! But keep your spirits high! We are all here for you!!

I got a letter from my boyfriend today, he wrote it on the 1st he says that he heard they're not gonna be on lockdown for 6 months its going to be less than that! and he hopes they're not bullshitting haha. hopefully they get off soon!

I heard some good news from my man, he was told they will only b down for 6 to 12 weeks! Great news, if that's what's up...

From what happened with the last lock down, and re-reading letters from my honey from that LD, I won't believe it until I see it. They always say different dates, then we get our hopes up and get our heartsbroken.
I don't believe anything CCA saids any more. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

a CO was killed. I want to say from Oct until April or May 2010.

I'm with Luisana619! I'll believe it when I see it. They all say something different, because the truth is, they really don't know. Super sad that my MIL and I just had to cancel our flight.. we were supposed to leave tomorrow. Perfect timing, once again!

I was there when the riot broke out! I spent 2 months planning and lots of $$$ for only a few hours of heaven.

I was going to spend 5 days with him in visit, but that didn't happen.

Well my bf wrote to me on the 5th and said they let them go to store but only to buy hygiene so little by little they're getting some privileges back. Hopefully visits come back soon too!

I got a letter from my honey yesterday written on the 6th saying that the rumor is they have 2 more buildings to search and then the guys would be on modified program and that each race is gonna get some time out of their cells. Hopefully that means phone calls soon!!!!!!

I just got a letter from my hunnie!! Yay!

and he said that he doesn't think they are going to be on lock down for as long as everyone was anticipating at first!! I REALLY hope that it's reality!! I hate not hearing from him!!

Either way...I guess we just gotta keep pushing! Hope you all had a great weekend and a swift week to come!

and Yolanda updated it yesterday January 10, 2011 but the same message: Until further notice blah, blah, blah and due to recent events CA inmates will not have visits!

On a positive note ladies I wrote a letter and emailed to to Melissa Lea
CA Out of State Facility Chief Deputy regarding my visits getting denied after driving 1000 miles and here is some of her email replies:

"Want to be responsive. Important to me. Will get back to you as soon as I possibly can."

(I sent a couple of follow up emails.)

"Will get you a response within the next week need to have staff review. "

FOR ALL OF YOU DEVOTED ONES THAT TRAVEL TO SEE OUR Incarcerated LOVED ONES:

I closed my letter with the following:

For the sake of mothers, children, grandparents, girlfriends, babies and everyone who travels hundreds and thousands of miles to visit a loved one in an out of state privately owned facility, would you please set a protocol that allows us to visit regardless of a lockdown occurring 24 hours of visit day or during the days that follow during visit days. It is time consuming and costly to make these trips. They are rarely affordable.

I understand that the inmates are convicted felons in a confined area of diverse races and violence incidents are inevitable but in most cases not all inmates are involved and after all the planning, emotional and financial investment we should have a right to visit under these circumstances.

Would you please consider these factors and modify the rules add an exception for families that travel long distances to spend time with inmates to help them rehabilitate and practice their social skills.

They are not just a CDC number or a profit they are also someone’s loved one, son, father, brother, grandson, a human being.

I look forward to hearing from you.
