My Husband will have maxed out, June 1st, of 2012. I am going to be waiting and ready to pick him up! I feel like family members should provide this transportation, unless of course, there is no-one, or no money available for this... If that is the case, than Ifeel theState shouldpayfor the indigent... God Bless!

I believe most people who use the bus usually have no other option. They've either lost contact with family, have no one who lives within the distance to pick them up/work schedule's conflict, and this is their only means of transportation. Just consider visits, if most people had a way to reach their loved ones, and afford the cost (consider the $ of gas, especially during the summer months), fewer people would be less dependent on using the bus upon their release.

This issue has come up before, the last time it was a public safety issue. Yet I've not read in the paper where a released inmate of SCDC committed a crime upon release at the Greyhound station. I think this is just another means for politicians to get the public upset about something else their being "taxed" for.

My husband will never even come close to that bus. I will be in the parking lot hours in advance if I have to starve to have the gas money! But I know there are many cases when that is not the case and yes, the system should pay the ticket cost... they have earned enough over thier stay there to pay for the ticket home. Thats the least they can do for them!
