Default Alcohol and Drug Rehab jobs in PA?

I notice a lot of posts say to get an education in drug/alcohol rehab as they hire ex-offenders, but I have a masters in psych with emphasis in these areas but every place I call in the PGH, PA area shoots me down when I tell them I have a felony trespass conviction (breaking into my own house). Does anyone know of any drug/alcohol counseling businesses in PA that actually hire ex-offenders? Thanks for any leads you can offer.

I don't know of one off-hand, but I wish you the best in your efforts.

That is bizarre....maybe you should move to Philly. In most rehabs I know of in the Philly area, they will hire you as long as you don't have convictions for arson, a sexual offense, or any kind of a crime against children. Most places have some kind of a rule for how much time has to pass between the conviction and being hired....maybe between two to five years.

Another option, if you don't need to make a ton of money, would be to get hired as a peer specialist, prove yourself, and then advocate for a counseling position.

If you need any suggestions in the Philadelphia area, PM me.
