What is it about the Lone Star State? And why is it so damn hard to get stays and death sentences commuted to LWOP. I genuinely thought things would change with Obama in the White House but it hasn't.

So first let me say I am very against the death penalty , but I have read this case, and many others and there were two men tried and convicted of this capital murder case and yet Mr. Robles gets the death penalty and Mr. Padron gets life? and the justice is where? When will murdering of men and women stop, an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind, as Ghandi so wisely said. Also in the states, because I am just a dumb canuck, are doctors the one that inject the lethal cocktail to these people? Just curious

I can't believe this. He's such an intelligent, loving man.. He doesn't deserve this. I hope he'll get a stay, but it doesn't seem so

I believe that they have venipuncture trained technicians (normally prison staff) who administer IV's into both arms, separate staff members prepare the drugs and either staff or private citizens administer the drugs. In some states they use a machine to administer the drugs so no one has to be held responsible. Doctors cannot take part because it goes against the Hippocratic Oath. This has lead to a lot of mistakes such as drips coming out. And no one knows how many people have died horribly painful deaths and not been able to tell anyone due to paralysis. If the anesthetic wears off before unconsciousness occurs its can feel like your blood is boiling a horrific, inhumane way to die. How long till people see sense and end this?

i don't understand why he got convicted at all. did they have DNA or something? i know that someone said he saw him taking off his mask.. and someone heard him talking to his co-defendant about it. but how can they be so sure that those people aren't lying? i don't get it

The kinetics of the current barbiturate being used, Pentobarbital, are particularly hard to predict. Patient's size, liver diease, kidney disease, and a host of other variable issues make it a difficult drug to dose. So it is of a particular concern that lay people will be administering it in a "one size fits all" fashion. No one knows for sure how much training the people administering the drugs get. It is kept confidential.

Its a concern Mamma - best we can do is pray for a stay and Call Perrys office to protest . One day our Voice's and prayers will be heard i have no doubt. My thoughts are with Mr Robles and his family and friends xx

The 33-year-old was set to die Wednesday evening. The lethal injection would be the ninth this year in Texas, and at least five others are scheduled in the coming weeks.
Robles' appeals were exhausted and no late attempts to put off the punishment were in the courts Tuesday, the Texas attorney general's office said.

Martin Robles is innocent. He has never taken anyones life as they say he did. Yes he was locked up at the age of 17 for a murder charge but he was only charged with that because he was walking with the guy who actually did the shooting and Martin had no idea what his friend was going to do that. He did not take anyones life either back in Nov 2002. This so called justice system is only going by what these guys are saying probably just to lighten their own sentence time. There was no DNA to prove that he committed this crime. If this guy that was supposely in the house when the shooting took place why did it take months before Martin was locked up for these crimes he did NOT committ? I believe Martin when he says he was set up by the cops. I believe his is innocent and his life is going to be taken away without cause or justice. the jury states something about his tattoos bein this and that, that has nothing to do with the case. That should have been thrwn out of the court. He past record ok. We all made mistakes and did things as children that doesnt mean anything. People do change. He is a great, loving, kind, honest man. He is not this monster the media makes him out to be. I was with him for many years and he never had an ounce of hate in him. He is an awesome man. Please set him free..
