Default Transfers from SCI Camp Hill

anyone know what happens if a prisoner gets transferred from Camp Hill to their home jail? How long will it be until they can call to let us know? Do we have to go through the entire visitors list approval again?
My brother has already been classified in Camp Hill .. and is awaiting to be sent to his home jail. And we don't know when it will happen .. or what will happen when it does.

what jail is your brother going to?it can take 2 weeks or less to get a phone and visitation list approved again.you won't know when he'll go , they just up, and move him with no notice.

we don't know where he's going. half the people he talks to says they try and put him as far from his home as possible .. and others say that since he's level 2 .. they may send him to a higher level prison to work ..
we've been visiting him each week, but this week may not happen ... but if they move him .. it may be awhile to see him before visitors get approved again... took a month at camp hill

They dont have to make a new visitor list when they are transferred, typically, their visiting lists move with them, but there may be a processing time at the new place where they wont be able to have visits for a brief period until all the papers etc are settled. However, getting a phone call may take a little more time, as they have to re-enter his information into their calling system.....and the DOC is anything but prompt, Id think youd be looking at a couple of weeks at the MOST.

he just got moved to Mercer. i'm not sure which day ... since the locator usually takes 24 hours and such. but i called the prison and asked the guards on the phone when i'd be able to visit. he said i could come tomorrow. his list did transfer over with him and didnt need any new approval.
i just wrote to him .. letting him know that all of us here at home know where he's at .. and we'll come see him as soon as we can.
but what if the guard is wrong? and then i can't see him after driving 5 hours?
any opinions?

well .. we weren't approved to visit when i thought. BUT .. my bro called this past tuesday and said all was approved and couldn't wait to see us. we're going to leave 3am tonight/tomorrow morning ... get there when they open at 8am. i can't wait.
he said Mercer is a real cool place. everyone (including guards) are cool so far.
however ... they told him not to look forward to getting out on his minimum .. nor to get to a halfway house .. since his minimum is 2 1/2 and max is 5... and he's already been in 5 months ... and hasnt started any programs. i guess one of his programs takes two years to complete!??! they told him to look forward to staying at least 3 years .. maybe a little more.
is there anything that we can do to speed this along?
