Hi i have a brother thats sitting in county and he is about to get sentenced next month to 22yrs for second degree murder

and he was telling me that in august they might pass a law that is goin to make minnesota a 1/3 state .. have anyone ever heard of this!? any help would be appreciated

I haven't heard anything about that and I have a hard time seeing that happen. I will look around though and see what I can find out.

@erica, I imagine it means that the inmates will only serve 1/3 of their time out in prison where as right now they do 85% of their time.

yeah they JUST passed it.. and the messed up part.. is anyone whos already sentenced has to sit their 2/3 still.. new offenders get 1/3.. F**king bullshit!!!

That can't be true because my husband was just sentenced a few weeks ago and he is doing 2/3 of his time...where can I find info on this? I tried to google it but nothing came up! I double checked his release date and it is 2/3.......
