Default Halfway Homes in GTA- What have your experiences with a half-way home been

Hey everyone, I'm wondering if anyone has any info on the process of getting accepted into a half-way home. My loved one has mailed an application to St. Leonard's Place in Brampton. Is there any way to increase your chances, what requirements do they look for and how long do they have to be there before being released on full parole? Any info big or small would be appreciated.

I visited the same half way house last week. They will go through the complete application once it gets to them. There is a panel of 5 or 6 people. It is an extremely nice place. It will be nice if you can visit and show some support from the family. If you go and visit then the panel and director would know that your loved one has a lot of support. They will need some support letters along with application.

basically what Nahin said.
the more support he has from family friends (support letters) and from his P.O the better his chances of getting in. also, if they have a bed available upon his release is a factor as well.

whatever he does, make sure he doesn't go to any halfway houses in toronto!

They need to apply to a half way house and be accepted and then wait for a bed to be available in order to be released on day parole.
