Default Prolonged approval process. Any alternatives?

Hi,

I submitted my completed application with court certified documentation confirming a dismissed misdemeanor charge to my friend's counselor at a BOP camp. The court dismissed and closed the case in January of this year. His counselor should have received it, at the latest, Thursday, Aug 11th. My friend said he's only in his office Thursday and Friday, and is difficult to track down (took 3 weeks to get the form from him). He tried to find him last Thursday to no avail. Friday my friend was called into the office to be chastised about a family member calling the office to verify he was alright because the family member hadn't heard from him. He explained with limited means, he prioritizes his calling minutes for his children. The response was they weren't his secretary and didn't have time to field well-being calls. He felt the atmosphere was too awkward to ask for an updated visitors list.

The only viable time for me to visit him (it's a 7 hour drive one way and I have childcare issues) is the weekend of Sept. 9th. Jumping the gun I realize, but if the counselor doesn't process my paperwork soon, I'm worried I won't get to see him. Are there alternative means to obtain visitation permission? I should note I worked for the federal government, and fully understand government time is not regular time. It took 6 months to order paperclips. Not joking. Planning ahead and being future oriented was a valuable tool for survival. Applying those principles here.

Thanks for any information.

Wannahelp,

I'm sorry it's taking so long for an approval for you. I'm not sure if there are any other ways to get approved other than what you've done.
