Default Basic questions

So my BF is currently in Tipton CC and is waiting to be transferred to treatment which we have been led to believe will be in Maryville...I've been reading all these posts and I'm so confused and aggravated its driving me nuts!... My questions are are they still allowing visits for the first 10 days?...before they "phase up" or whatever it is that everyone keeps saying?...also the the call times are restricted but I read the guys r getting in trouble for going over...I assume that's because they have to track the time themselves and its not done for them?...any insight to this facility would be really helpful including visit info ( like are u able to take pics in the visit room?...r theytables or couches?) as well as food visit info too...I'm just sick after reading that we can't talk on the phone or visit for 5 weeks...I usually talk to I'm everyday and visit twice a month...bummed....

Hi, I wish I could tell you more about the visits, but we don't get visits. :-( You might try calling the facility and asking, would think that they'd be able to explain how it works to you. 660-582-6542 is the number. Have him send you a visiting form ASAP, and when you mail it back, mail it to the facility, not to him, and mail it by itself. Keep an eye on the DOC website so you can know if/when he is transferred. That's how I found out where he was at, and I had a letter out in the mail to him before he got his first phone call. That much, I do know. I have heard though that this place is more relaxed, and that the visits are pretty good, but that's all I know about that. Sorry I can't give you more detail about that! As far as the phone calls go, they get one 15-minute phone call when they get there and sign in, to let you know where they are, and that they are okay. They don't get any more phone calls until they phase up. Which can take 2-3 weeks, or longer, but that depends on him and how quickly he works through the program. So at least you will get a phone call when he gets there. After my fiance got there, it was 24 hours later that he got to call me. He's been there almost 3 weeks now, and is supposed to phase up and get to start calling any day now. After they phase up, they then get three 15-minute calls 3 times a week. That's all they get for 16 weeks, and after 16 weeks, they do get more phone calls, but by then, it's almost time for them to come home! You have to keep a close eye on how long you're on there, because they can get in trouble for that, for going over. They actually had some bad storms last week that did some damage to the facility, in particular, my fiance's housing unit, so him and some of the other guys are sleeping in the gym. So it is a little crazy there right now, and it is causing some trouble for those trying to get to the phones. So keep that in mind if he doesn't call right away. I was used to talking to my fiance several times a day, and it makes me sick too that now we don't get to talk. Instead we have been writing more, and I have been writing him a letter every day to update him on things just like I would update him if we were talking on the phone. My fiance says the food there is better too! :-) He thought it was hard at first, when he first got there, but after awhile it gets better. Well hope this helps and if I find out any other useful information, I'll post it here too.
