Default Bluegrass Cafe September 2011

Well ya'll....better late than never I guess, but here's our September Cafe jemison usually beats me to it LOL

Thank you all for understanding my absence Its gonna be a minute before I am into a new routine....I will not work nights now that My Mr is home. Period. Which means a reduction in hours, unfortunately. Its gonna be tough around here, but that's just the way its gotta be and it'll be ok.

Do we have any special days coming up in September? Birthdays? Anniversaries? Parole hearings? Homecomings

I've some catching up to do around here (PTO) and 3 assignments due by Tuesday plus My Mr's PO said to come see him Tuesday a.m. due to the weekend/Holiday.

Speaking of the holiday, Monday is a "no mail" day .

On a brighter note, its September! That means these 100 degree days are short-lived....Yee Haw!!

So, how is everybody?? Come on in and sit a spell.....Welcome to the September Bluegrass Cafe

Just checking in from good ol' Northern KY! Visiting family and friends for the holiday weekend, but also, a very special dear friend of mine had an emergency quintuple bypass on Wednesday. She's not out of the woods yet at all so if anyone can muster up some rusty old prayers or crossed fingers I would be ever so grateful.

patchouli - I understand your new schedule, I would want to be home all of the time too! Get those school papers turned in!! Glad he's home and all is well.

wow another month gone by. can not believe he has been home since March of 2007 and no trouble but being to noisy but many things go through my head with him but i care deeply for him even though we have alot of troubles.

if i did not tell you guys i had a grandson back in March, his name is adam and he will be 6 months old soon and a real handful he is. he is learning to sit up on his own and crawl and when you hold him he just wants to go go go but his feet are not letting him move yet so i know when he has his walking feet it will be no walk but all running after this child. i just hope i can do this being i babysit while she is in school and son is out trying to make money by hauling off trash and i work nights.

life gets hard at time when you are trying to run a house hold on just my income and making sure all five are happy but i do make more then an average job out there. sometimes i don't see how people can make it on 7.75 an hour with the price of food going up and gas going up.

okay time to change the subject:

let's see how many people remember what yr?

1) gas was 24 cents a gallon?

2) when you work for $4.25 an hour?

3) milk was under $1,99 a gallon?

4) juice fruit gum was 15 cents for a pack of five?

5) when 50 cents went a long way for candy?

6) when you use to be able to get all over town on your bicycle no problem?

that is just a few add your own to the list. i would like to see how many different answers i can see people come up with.

here are my answers

1) 78
2)79
3)73
4) 72
5) 72
6) 76

man i am old giggles. i hope everyone has a safe holiday i will be working.

Good morning, NKY friends!

I hope this finds everyone at peace, and in good health.

I will say a special prayer for your friend, Sass. I wish her a speedy recovery.

Good news to report. I was offered a consulting job, which will afford me to work mainly from home, which with my daughters addiction/depression issues - it will be a good thing. It's a 100 percent commission, but I'm used to that. It's a good opportunity, once things get going.

My little 9 yr. old daughter is home with me today, with a stomach virus. She is so precious. She was 1.2 lbs. when born. At that time, a 50/50 chance at survival. Pre me's are such fighters! She's more concerned at how things are going on my first day back to work, lol....She has such a giving spirit.

Thats it on my front

God bless, you all !

Things are good here Not much of a routine yet, but once My Mr finds a job we can work out a schedule and get into a routine. So far we're just taking it easy and reconnecting, talking a lot. Saw the PO today, so that's out of the way.

RainMan, congrats on your pre me's strength and spirit. Kids can be such an asset....and yes, they can also be a royal pain in the arse

Too much rain for me this week. I love the cooler temps, but sure wish the sun would pop out!

Ya'll have a great week

RM- Congrats on the job!!! I'm happy for you, and working at home will be an asset for your kiddos. Your little one sounds awesome! Did you see the fireworks over the weekend? My son weighed 3 lbs 14 ozs when he was born. Now he's 24, 5'10", 175 lbs!

jemison- so glad Darion's wrestling!!! And he will forgive you for not picking him up!

patchouli- glad things are going good at your house. You won't believe this but I noticed today I have 2 tomato plants growing on my patio! One of them even has 4 small green tomatoes about the size of a grape!! I had heard that the people that lived here before me grew them. Since they fired our landscapers 3 weeks ago, no one has cut the grass or weeds so the maters grew!!! I noticed the plants last week, thinking they looked like tomato plants, even had the little yellow flowers on them, and today I saw the tiny maters!!! Man I hope they get bigger and redder and don't die in this cold! They usually don't just grow over and over each year, right? Don't they have to be planted every year? Interesting!

rose- nice seeing you popping in. You left shortly after I joined so I didn't get to know you well, but enjoyed reading your posts.

As for the weather, I do like it a little cooler but mostly I like 70's-80's weather. Some rain is good.
My friend is doing better, thanks guys. She endured a 5 bypass, then 2 days later threw a clot so she had more surgery. Today she was moved to a regular room, ate a few bites, and walked a little! She's a tough old bird!

Good Afternnon ya'll! Can you believe all this crummy weather??? Yeah, i was bitch'n about the rain in the spring/early summer, then again about the 112 + degree temps.....but come on already!! Can we just have a few slightly warm, sunny days?? LOL

Other than my complaining about the weather, all is well here. My daughter finally got a job and has been working for about a week. Its only part-time, but its a start......she got her first paycheck yesterday.

My boss called at 5:00 a.m. , Scared me........you know that thought as you head for phone in your sleep . Anywho, I had to work this am, then had that dog-gone paper to do. It was only due this past Tuesday . Anywho, I gotta be at work at 7 a.m. in the morning so I guess I'm taking a shower and heading to bed.

Have a great weekend ya'll!!

Well, all is drama-filled here. The man's 2 youngest kids moved in. His babys momma is about to have a cow. But it was their choice. D has to have oral surgery next Friday. B is having some adjusting problems with the house being so full. Not sure if I mentioned it before but we also have one of the kids from church living here. The man is probably capable of getting a job now but isn't even looking. I am getting laid off, my last day is Sept. 30th. At least, I will get unemployment. About the only thing going good is school.

Holy crap deons When it rains it pours, doesn't it I'll tell ya right now, My Mr couldn't handle all the new bodies in the house. OMG....you're getting laid off? I hate that for you, but unemployment will help. Been there, done that. Don't worry about too much right at this minute. Take it one day at a time--we should all be good at that by now . Things do have a way of working out when you least expect them and in ways you least expect.

Patch--I've tried my hardest to be patient with all of them. But let me tell you, they are all a mess-bickering and telling on each other everyday. The man has no concept of money or feelings. I am ready to give up but I feel like I can't because of the kids. I am just so tired and my blood pressure is extremely low which makes it worse. Oh well, I'm going to keep praying and God will put us all where we need to be.

Morning

Deon- AMEN!..sista...I think really thats about all you can do right now...GIVE UP YOU!....Na i dont see that we woman are the strengh of our families...even when things are rough we always seam to find the way. Hang in there..we all know it will get better ...after all can it get any worse?...lol

Well Darion got suspened yesterday for fighting untill Monday. They were in the lunch line and Darion was cutting up with a frined of his...and some kid took it upon his self and asked Darion if he was talking to him...and of course Darion said NO i was talking to Elijah(spelled wrong) anyways the kid says NO i think you were talking to me so he approached Darion got all in his face and needless to say Darion put it on him. He punched him then picked him up and slammed him down then got on top of him and proceed to punch him some more untill it was broke up. But the principle say Darion broke his braces and cause the other kid to punch someone else who was not involved...well i say and i may be wrong but you put someone in a corner ..they are gonna come out fighting. Darion is in NO way a fighter or trouble maker so i think he got what he wanted. and i will back him up 100%. I /we raised him that way ..you dont start anything but you dont take anything either! So all i can say to that kids parents is...IF he didnt want any trouble then he shouldnt have started any trouble. and im sure Darions friend will back him up also. The one he was cutting up with in the first place. Darion is in the 10th grade and this was his first fight ..so they should know he doesnt start anything. Like Darion said Mom..Im not a fighter i get try to get along with everyone. It just happened.

Well Dana is still doing the front desk thing..she likes it alot better than the candle factory....lol

Oh and i found out that her husband is still at eastern...we have been back to writing each other again.

deon's ....put those people out of your house! Or a least set some guidelines. I couldn't handle all the drama either. What a mess

Darion got in a fight and suspended for a 1st offense Did the other guy get suspended too? He should've He got what he asked for, now he wants to cry like a baby We were raised the same way.....don't start anything, but don't take anything either. I liked working front desk when I did it....and I did it for 9 years. Glad you've finally heard from Dana's husband!

I'm working more hours (all daytime) and cooking more , which means more dishes etc ...but all is well.
