I need any info I can get about lawton correctional facility. All I know is my bf got sent thete from lexington shu unexpectedly and all I know is that it is in lockdown

so no phone calls allowed. How bad is it there? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear he has been sent to LCF

my b/f was there for about 2 years. Get use to the lockdowns. It happens all the time there. Also, before you visit-make sure you call and double check being on his list. They are notorious for pulling fast ones when you show up for visit. Also, make sure you have a change of clothes when you visit b/c they pick and choose who has to follow dress code.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news...lol but LCF sucks big time. We made it through our time there but not before alot of bogus write ups & b/s. I hope you have a better time than we did! It the largest (I believe) prison in Oklahoma. The only thing I liked about that place was that it was only like an hour and half away...now we are in Atoka. GOOD LUCK!

We have been at lcf since march or so and it hasn't been terrible. They are getting to use the phone when they get out for showers. I have not had a problem at visit but I have seen people turned away. I learned from dcf that I don't try to look too cute its gonna have to come from my sparkling peronality. I usually were jeans tennis shoes and a tshirt. No black, orange, navy. I stick with pink,brown gray if there is something on the front. No low cut shirts make sure you have sleave. No open toe shoes. I have heard a lot of horror stories too but honestly it hasn't been too bad.... but we had been @ dcf in holdenville. Totally call and make sure you are on his list and make sure they are having visit like Anewme25 said. Keep your eye on this site lots of good info and great people to talk to who understand what you are going thru. My Baby just tries to stay low and out of the radar do his time and get the hell out of there. It is rough right now with lockdown but we are all here for each other. We will get thru it.

my man is there too this is his second time being there. and from what he tells me everything there is slow. they have been on lock down since the 23rd of august and i have had 2 phone calls. they are getting commissary now. I believe she is right about it being the biggest but it is not a good place to be. alot of gang fights and stuff. i havent gone to visit there but i hear a lot of stories about them being picky on the dress code. good luck and hope all goes well for you guys.

My husband just got moved there from LARC and I have a question! He sent me the visitation form and I am currently on probation. it asks if you are on probation and if so asks for your P>O>s name and sayd you have to get it ok'd! do thye contact my PO if I try to visit or return the paper... reason i ask is that Beingon probation I am not allowed to associate with felons and well obviously he is one and if they find out I am visiting they will revoke my probation BUT I REALLY WANT TO SEE MY HUSBAND! does anyone know the extent of their checking process on this sort of thing?????????

lawton is privately owned so their visitation system is within itself. but if you are on probation, your PO will generally allow you to, it will have to be okayed with the warden and with your parole officer. best of luck.
but lawton is on lockdown right now because of some fights and that place is pretty hardcore, give write-ups for just about everything...
they have been on lockdown since august like the previous posts list. the phone calls are based on levels, my ol man just got his level 2 and started getting calls... but like they said its a crooked place, stay on top of his case manager they are very helpful for the most part, lots of fights and stuff happen... this site is really good at getting answers...

I have a really har time getting his cm or um to do anything. NO ONE there returns phone calls. I will jut be glad when he gets transferred.

You don't wanna go to Lawton. That sucks he got transferred there. They send the problem makers there that need to be transferred from a work center. There are worse places though but Lawton is definitely on the "I'd rather not" list

The guards are some of the biggest pricks in the region, resulting from the people they have to deal with at that facility. Hopefully he is laying low and not having guards remember his name.

Good luck getting the case manager on the phone. He probably is having a hard time talking to his case manager too. One of the biggest battles when you are trying to make things happen is just getting a few mins of your case managers time.

If you are legally married it's no problem. If you aren't then you most likely will. It be able to see him.

Mwolf99, I too am on probation. I moved n with my husband (bf @ the time) while on probation. We use to report to PO together so he knew we lived together not to mention we live n a town of 1900 people so everyone knows everything even when they don't. My husband's unit mgr told him that there shouldn't be a problem with it as long as my PO sent letter saying its ok with him. I mailed my paperwork this past Wednesday. I'll let you know what happens.

I just called Lawton to see if their christmas packages has came in yet and they said they have but they are hanging onto them until they all come in because only some have arrived so far. I for one, did not order my man a christmas package and I was wondering if there was a way to find out who sent it???

From my experience no the "packages" aren't available at every yard....your loved one will know if they offer them where he is

Never mind, I got the answer to my question. The guys were only able to receive ONE package each so there were some guys who had more than one package that family & friends were trying to send so my man agreed to accept one in exchange for some of the items.
