Default Things Changed Inmate Complaint

When I was at county (Los Angeles Women's) I only made one complaint. I did not make a formal complaint when it took 4 days to give me a change of clothes, a towel and socks. I did not complain when I was provided no medical care (even though I was spitting up blood). I complained when I was denied access to a bathroom for several hours while at court and denied water though I was there for 12 hours. Also a mental health inmate's (older woman) arm was swelling because the cuffs were to tight and they didn't respond for over an hour. I filed a formal complaint and at my next court date I was actually interviewed. The Sargeant appeared relieved that I had not seen him the day in question. I was surprised that after my complaint all the inmates were responded to within 10 minutes of knocking on the door and they took several to the drinking fountain multiple times. The pods we were placed in started smelling less and less like urine. I was never retaliated against and the deputies were never anything but nice towards me. I was very low key and generally did not ask for anything. After the first experience I always brought water with me and I rarely asked for a bathroom break. Many would just comment "You are always so patient". I was usually stuck at court all day just to have it continued. I would not have complained but I thought it was severe.

That complain you put out was definetly a must. My daughter a diaylias patient was in a car with some people got pull over the driver & everyone in the car got taken in, she was treated like shit, no respect for her, the old shunts from her arms, the sheriff there, called her a druggie. Mistreated her so bad, i wish she could of taken names & i would of file a big time complain. May my daughter rest in peace she pass on April 30, 2011
