Don't you hate when you arrive to visit and find out Visitations Cancelled!

Yesterday they'd only cancelled visits for Friday. As of this morning, visitation for the entire institution is still cancelled. This was the first weekend visit available for his mother to be able to go and this happens. Given all of your posts this seems to happen often, and I just realized there's no open visitation this year for Christmas Eve/Christmas, the holiday visitation is during the week after.

That's right. Christmas open visitation is Dec. 26, 27, 29 and 30. L-Z alphabet visitation is Dec. 24-25 and visitation for A-K is Dec. 23.

And the reason visitation was cancelled? Not enough people working. I have been told in years past they have cancelled Christmas visitation and the week after too because of Lieber's call out problem.

Fingers crossed that I get to visit my boyfriend tomorrow. So far its a go. Needless to say I'm nervous and I don't know why. It's not like it is my first time visiting.

I did!! We had a good visit!! Except when we had 5 minutes left the co decided that visitation was over.

That's awesome!! Congrats on getting to see him! I know how exciting that is. That's one thing I HATE about visitation. The CO's frequently end visitation early to suit their own schedules....like when they are about to leave for the day and want to end visitation early so they can leave. They just don't care about how hard that is on the inmates and their families.

At Lieber, you can call in advance, get there and still have them come out 2 min. before visitation is to start and tell you it's cancelled. It doesn't much matter now as they won't be having visitation for quite some time.
