Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

My boyfriend is in the Stiner unit and I haven't heard from him in almost two weeks. Is anyone else having trouble with the mail? Also, he's only been there about 6 weeks, but I would have hoped the mail would be on track and regular by now. He's had money on his books since his first week there and I know he ordered all his mail supplies. This doesn't seem like him at all and I'm stressing because I'm still waiting for visitation/phone approval and this waiting period is killing me. The letters are the only thing I have right now and I was understanding at first when he couldn't send them, but now I'm getting frustrated, worried, and sad.

I'm so sorry you haven't heard from your boyfriend. I haven't been getting as many letters from my guy (also in Stiner) but I was just attributing that to the fact that he doesn't really like to write. His last letter was from 11/2 and I received it on Saturday the 5th. It seems to take about 2-4 days to receive his letters.

I'm still in the waiting for phone/visitation approval situation as well. This waiting is for the birds. I really hope you hear from him soon.

Thanks for responding. This whole thing is so frustrating. My boyfriend wrote me every day when he was originally booked into county jail and he promised he'd write me every day once he was sentenced. That's why I feel uneasy. I don't think it's intentional...I think he'd write if he could. But I don't understand what the hold up is. The few other letters I've received have been postmarked the day before, so....ugggh. this waiting is the worst.

Always look at obvious first!! Does he have stamps? paper? envelopes? This is usually the first problem. Especially now, since they are switching over to the new pre-paid letters. If he has ordered them, then he will be a week behind, as the order gets put in, and 5 days later, it's delivered. Also with the new store listing and raises in prices, stamps may be on the bottom of the list of needs, as everything has increased in value!

Yes, in a letter two weeks ago he said he had ordered his supplies and would have them on Wednesday. So that would have either been 11/2 or 10/28 based on when he wrote that letter. I'm so frustrated.
