Thought I would just post alittle something. I have been some what upset with my husband. My hubby just gave me his release date, NOW he as been gone since Jan 2007. I believed everything he said, then to find out all inmates are given their release date when they get in. I asked my hubby why didnt he tell me his release date. I knew he was going to be in for more then 5 yrs but turnes out he aint coming home til 2014. I feel so mistrusted and left out. I asked him if he thought I would leave him? he said no. I feel he thought I would have left him in 2007. I do feel since he has gotten to use the phone just this year, he has been more controlling and demanding. I have an illness called fibromyalgia which it very painful & I dont think my husband being put away helps. It hurts when I'm not feeling good he tells me "your falling apart". What if I would to tell him some truth to his life..... I dont think he gets it. I have done my Very Best to raise our son who now is 7. I just dont get it !!!

There is a difference between women in "regular relationships" and women who are in prison relationships--we have to stay strong for ourselves and for our men. Don't ever be sorry for venting, because this is what this forum is for. You have to be strong and remain strong. You have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend!

Sweetie, you do the best you can and that's it. Having a chronic illness helps to magnify it. Kudos to you for being strong, and being there for your child and still having some left over for him. You are safe here to say the things you may not feel comfortable in saying to him, and that's ok.

Not that my opinion counts, but it is really possible that deep down he had some fear, and putting down that number on paper makes it *real*. I know my guy has skirted around the same issue. Its not that he is being dishonest with me, because he has told me the length of his sentence and I realize that we will both be very fortunate if he ever gets to see the outside of the walls. But putting that date down on paper has been far too much for him (to this point.) I understand that and respect that.

Maybe now that things are on the 'down slope' he felt comfortable saying it. Maybe saying it was easier than the finality of writing it down. I don't know. But I do know that you have shown that you are a strong woman by raising your child and continuing in your relationship. You deserve kudos for that!

I wish... For the past week I have been checking the Donner pass road conditions daily. Just torturing myself, I guess. It would suck in two ways. One, because I visited Nov 26 & 27th they would be 1 hr visits. Two, my Daddy's (RIP) birthday was Christmas Eve. I'm not ready to share that day with anyone yet.

I have thought about New Year's though. There is something symbolic about spending the first day of the year with the one you love. Wow, did I just say that?? Glad it was on here and not to him, lol. Not quite ready to go there yet Although I think he knows, lol!
