Congratulations I am actually a newlywed but I am here on Texas. I sent my husband an affividavit for absent applicant. He had it notarized in the law library and sent it back to me. I took his BC and the affividavit to the records building and got our license. We had to wait 72 hrs but also he chose his mom to serve as proxy but we did our ceremony @ the JP. The marriage license was 71 and the actual ceremony was 50. GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING!!!!

Thanx u guys!!! Firstloves; they dont do proxy marriages in california, both single parties have to physically be there. I wish they did though because that's convenient.

Congrats. I'm getting married at F.S.P. next weekend. First he has to request a marriage packet from his counselor. He signs a few papers I believe but he also sends you a few 1 or 2 you have to send back signed and dated. Then he has to take them to his counselor he also has to have money on his books at that time for a notary. The consoler will send them over to the clerks office. You have to find out who performs ceremonies there. Also you have to meet them at the clerks office to finish up the paper work and get you marriage license. I hope this helps if not pm me I'll answer any question that I can
