Default Illinois parole questions

my fiance has a 3 year parole which in january 2012 he will have completed a year and a half of. I live in missouri and he is on parole in illinois. we have a 10 week old baby girl together that he rarely gets to spend time with because i work full time and he works and goes to school. he asked his parole officer today if he would be able to cross state line with permission and she told him no, the only possible way he can cross state lines is for medical purposes for the baby. is there no way she could allow him a weekend pass into missouri? i know missouri will give it to their offenders to cross into illinois. also he was told him prison by a states attorney that he was allowed to own a bow and black powder gun to deer hunt with. does anyone know if this is true? i know the rules and regs say no dangerouse weapons, but he was told this while in prison by someone that should know better.

My experience with Illinois parole is limited to one time with my man. He was not allowed to cross the state line even though we lived only a few miles from Wisconsin which is where the job he finally landed would take him on occasion. You would think that the parole agent would have been more positive about the fact that he was employed but he still said no.

Is it possible for you to take the baby to Illinois to see him? I know it is not the best solution but it may be your only choice at this point.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful but one of our members may share some insight. In the meantime I wish you and your family the best of luck.

Thank u! I bring her over there when I can, but he lives with a friend at his friends moms house and we can't really visit there much, so when I do bring her we have to just go places, sucks having her out all day long in the cold and stuff, but she's gotta see her daddy. He lives 2 miles from the state line into st Louis and can't cross either. I just don't understand it, but I guess they have their reasons.
