Yes i have contact visit in my hubby is in Cyard i have in appointment at 8:30

im soooo nervous to go see him! last time I saw him I was 17...almost 22 now. I don't want to go by myself but I know it's probably the better thing to do. i was thinking of asking him to ask his parents to go with me (haven't talked to them since i was 15!) im so stuck =[

Yes isis9700 is correct. You have to buy the tokens before you get processed. The machine is in fromt on the left.

And yes girl I was there too when the lady thought it was a change machine. I bought a few tokens from her.

No way, poor lady I had six tickets from my last visits because if it's not because they ran out of film it someting else. Good thing my last visit we got picuturs, witch he needed to mail because my visit was cut short. I got checked in before they did so I wasn't sure how much she sold. It sucks because it doesn't make it clear on the little note they have. I was sitting right in front of the machine when it happened with my granddaughter. As always it's thanks to all these post that I find out all the little things that happen at KVSP and also got me through my first visits. So thank you very much girly for clarifying.

My family and friends are always saying they'll go with me so I didn't have to make the 2 hr. drive by my self, but I'm always driving through traffic for and 1hr. so 2hrs. To see my baby is nothing. I like it better because the visit is all about him and me. Plus the last time I took my granddaughter and I had my iPod on and I was singing she said, "Nana can you please stop singing." Specially because you haven't seen him for a while don't feel bad about going by your self because it will give you time to catch up. Good Luck

Thanks for posting about the ducats, good to know!!! I still have one left from last month, because we didnt get a chance to take one Thats why i come on here daily to find new info. if there is any!!

I feel you. I still got three cuz I went with his sister last month so I bought yhree. I hope we can take some this weekend. maybe we should call and complain about that too lol.

my bf is in D3 and has visits the first 3 wknds of the month then the last wknd he doesn't due to THU visits... I noticed the c.o on visiting update said inmates in D 1-6 can have non contact by appt only.. is this true for I told my bf n he had no clue they were able to have them. hope I make sense lol any info is appreciated

THU visits are the 3rd weekend of every month, so durring that weekend, yes, u can call or email to make an appointment to visit for one hour behind the glass. Hope this helps.

If there are in GP we don't have to make appointment right? We just show up ounce we have been approved. Also how much are the picture ducats at KVSP?

Idk about the GP visits but the photos are 2.00 each

For GP you will also need to make an appointment but If you don't make an appointment, you can still go after 10:30. But It's always better if you do. A yard has been on lockdown for a while. If you call or email your appointment they'll let you know if they are on modified program or you can call the visiting Hot Line at 1-800-374-8471, no need to listen to the whole message, hit 1-3-6 and that will take you to KVSP site were it will tell you depending on what yard he's in if they are on lockdown. Here is info. on making your appointment:

Visiting days and hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Visitor Processing:
Visitors will be processed onto the Institution no earlier than 7:00 AM.
All visitors need to arrive no earlier than sixty minutes before their scheduled visit. Make sure to include your scheduled time on the top of your visiting pass.

Scheduling Appointments:
Visitors can schedule appointments over the telephone by calling (661) 720-4952 or (661) 721-6360 on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
OR
Visitors may also request scheduled appointments via e-mail by emailing CDCRInstitutionsKVSPVisiting@cdcr.ca.gov starting at 12:00 PM Saturdays until 12:00 PM Wednesdays. Once the request is processed staff will e-mail the visitor a confirmation. The request must include the names of the visitors, inmates name and CDCR number, housing, date and time of the request. If the requested time is not available you will be scheduled for the next available time slot.

Note: Only one appointment per day can be scheduled to allow for other visitors to have equal access to the schedule process.

Thank you for the information. My man is on A yard. What appointment times do they have? If I make an appointment for 8am will I be able to visit the whole time from 8am-2:30pm?

The appointments are the same for all yards, they start at 8am and go through 1030am I believe. Non appointments are processed after 1030am. How long you get to visit depends on how crowded the yard gets. Hope this helps. good luck!

I sent an email yesterday morning requesting my visit but I have not heard back from them yet. How long does it take for them to answer our requests?

It can take 1 hour to up to 24 hours. You are on A yard right? I believe they are still on lockdown, well blacks and hispanics I think. Good luck

Thanks for the info. It's been a day and a half now and still no response. Yes he is on A-Yard, he is white so I hope no lock down. It will be our first contact visit in 9yrs. I can't wait!!! If I don't here from them by morning should I call??

Don't worry you should be ok; I once made my appointment on Sunday and did not get the response till Wed. Because Wednesday noon it the last day to send e-mail request, I called early morning on Wednesday and he was really nice and said that they had been running behind but that he had just sent my approval. You should be ok, but if in doubt call or send it again. I also went once last minute and called on Friday for Saturday visit and got in at a good time with no problem. Good Luck

Now that I have my appointment I have started to nervous about to wear. I'm a larger sized woman and its hard to find things. How are they with wearing sweats, nylon work out pants ( swish swish) and black jeans? Help please!!

Haha swish swish?, is that the noise from the nylon pants? Well I've seen people go in with nylon work out pants, as long as your pants aren't so skin tight... Take extra clothes just in case and no wire bra!
