Default 936 letters protesting parole for this guy...OUCH!

http://www.dispatch.com/content/stor...d-athlete.html

Hundreds of people who sent protest letters and emails to the Ohio Parole Board will have to wait days or even weeks longer to find out whether Arnold J. Nichols is released to a halfway house.
Nichols, convicted in the 1993 robbery-shooting that paralyzed popular Madison County athlete and coach David Parker, appeared before the board today and was interviewed as scheduled.

this guy has no chance

There is no 'real' parole system in Ohio - it's somewhat an archaic process, compared to the rest of the country...

Oh tell me about it. The parole board has more authority than a judge even. Your life hangs in the balance at their very whim. Ask me all about it. Sweets has been in since 2006 on a parole violation which usually lasts from 9 to 18 months for most people, but due to a serious conviction when he was age 18, he can be kept indefinitely if they choose. He has never had one single behavioral issue at the institution but guess what that gets you? You got it. Absolutely nothing. There is no merit based ANYTHING for guys under old law. As far as the case in the paper, he will probably have a very tough time as well. Remember this....God forgives...It's people who don't. Particularly our parole system which exists just to give a few folks JOBS, which they wouldn't have if they abolished this unfair and archaic system.
