Default Ralph Birdsong - PA - 17 Jan 2012 Stayed

PHILADELPHIA -- Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett has signed death warrants for two more inmates on death row, although the state last executed someone in 1999.

Kenneth Hairston, 60, formerly of Allegheny County, is sentenced for lethal injection for killing his wife and autistic son in 2001. He has admitted to beating them before setting fire to the house, a gubernatorial news release said Wednesday.

Ralph Birdsong, 50, is set for execution for killing two Philadelphians in 1988. His execution is set for Jan. 17, and Hairston's a day later.

Both Mr. Birdsong and Mr. Hairston are likely to receive stays.

Thanks Heidi. That's why we don't typically post PA dates. It's good to see though!

Although I did put in my OP Mr. Birdsong was likely to receive a stay, it's always good when it becomes official!
