That's so true, so many wanna leave, alot do!! Especially from down this way!! I have a wonderful job though and that's enough to stay here!! The food is definitely a plus!! You can't get real mexican food like here anywhere else!! I hope your boo can parole to Cali!! I'm hoping my husband can parole here to NM, he's in Texas. I'm not sure where Burque is, guess I never been through there!

Lana, "Burque" is slang for Albuquerque (the 505 baby!). That's where I live - my husband is in Coloraod

He's about 5 hours from me. I visit about once a month. We're still trying to decide if he is going to try and transfer down here to finish his time.

I wish my husband was in either Cruces or Roswell - I have family in both places so it would be easy for me to visit. He's in Colorado, which totally sucks!

Well hey ya ladies!!! I guess I should have really known what Burque was!! LOL!!! I go like every couple of months for classes!! I'm in Hobbs, but my man is in Texas. I am not sure what "levels" are, as they don't really have numbered levels there. I wish my man was here, we have a private facility in Hobbs, but that'll never happen. I'm hoping he makes parole in May, but it it not, he maxes out in December after almost 13 years. Good luck to all of us on here, and so glad I found some NM girlz!!!!!!

rent is hella bad here in california... I have done extensive resource searching for 3days now so far have only found two apartment complexes that will accept felons but they require the felonies not be any newer than 7 years and one of them was 5..and only found two rental agencies...its TOUGH...and I am NOT gonna lie and put myself in a position that I/we are evicted...one of the rental agencies seems to have places only in the bad part of town.. btw, how long will it take for me to get residency I have not lived in NM since 2003..

yeah its hard to find housing were they will accept felons.. burke is not that bad thou many places will take you and not ask many questions.. but thru housing agencies they will not accept him.. my sister just got out of prison and she didnt struggle to find an apartment.. she lives near cesar chavez and broadway.. not a bad area compared to "the war zone" SE burke is you know what im talking about.. you would have to travel down there and start looking personally.. good luck =)

6 months establishes residency accoring to the interstate compact, so I'm assuming that's pretty much the rule, hopefully anyways.
