My husband just got his paperwork saying he is going to CCI at the end of this week. He is going to be going to the level 3 SNY yard that used to be reception, I think. Does anyone know if these cells have power in them?

He got there last Friday, Feb 3., and I have only gotten one letter from him so far since he has no property and they are not sure when the new guys will be getting it. Anyway, since it was a reception yard before, he said there are no phones, no programs, nothing. He said that only half the yard was empty which means the other half are general population inmates and they are not allowed to be out of their cells at the same time. He is happy to be back in a cell after 3 years of gym life, but is now 6 hours away from home instead of 1. I guess they were in a hurry to get the gym closed where he was before, but they weren't ready for these guys at CCI.
I'm trying to find out any and all info for visits and phone calls for this "new" level 3 SNY yard, so I would appreciate anything anyone knows or has to share.

Hello. My husband is currently at NKSP reception and I was notified he was endorsed to Tehachapi. He will be going into level 1. Can anyone tell me how it is in this level. is it pretty layed back? Open dorms or cells? any info about this prison would be appreciated.

My hub was not lv 1 (and is now out)
but from what I remember and what he's told me, lv 1 seems to go on lockdown frequently. All for dumb stuff. And usually short term Lock downs.
Hope they have stopped doing stupid stuff so everyone can get phone calls and visits.

I got a call this afternoon from facility D today and he didn't mention a lockdown. I'll ask tonight and post if I have any news.

I'm sorry - I didn't get either morning or evening call today, so I don't have any news. Did anyone get a call from Facility D today?

Anxiety must have been getting the best of me because I finally got a call. The phones were off for a time because the fog rolled in pretty thick thus emergency fog counts, etc.

according to the letters i have gotten, there are no phones and they don't have any idea if/when they will have any. My husband said they told him that they were not prepared to receive all of these inmates and that they have no money to do anything for visiting, phones, etc. It is so awful that they don't even have access to working phones to call their families to let them know they are ok. He said they have been getting their meals in their cells and that they have no program or anything. It is just terrible to have gone from MCSP where we visited every weekend and had family visits to absolutely nothing. Not even a phone call. He hasn't even gotten his property yet, and there are 5 other guys that came on his bus that haven't gotten theirs yet and it has been weeks. Ridiculous.

Wow, I am sure my husband is going crazy then if they can't do anything. I talked to a good friend of mine who is a IFC Rep from C yard and she gave me the Ombudsman's name and phone number for CCI. I am going to call tomorrow. This is ridiculous that they went from having all Privileges to having nothing... I visited every weekend and was only an hour away from my home now, he is 6 hours away and I am not sure if I can afford to go at least once a month.
Well thank you for the information, I will check back for updates.

Hi ladies...my son is being transferred to the new level 3 yard tomorrow, sometime. I am hoping and praying that the phone situation is resolved soon, but it's more important to know that he's okay...and gets his property. Sorry to hear that this is NOT what is was supposed to be. Hoping they at least have some kind of programs, jobs, and church...like the website says. Hope all of this is resolved soon..now we are all stressing, and that's not good. My son is cool with it...but I like to know if he's okay..this is very upsetting to say the least. I can only pray...for you and yours and for my son and me. If I hear anything, will be sure to post. Nice to meet you all.

Its possible if they dont have *church* that the chaplain might go to them and meet.
I hate that they dont have church if they want one.
We dont know about programs, other than AA or NA. Hopefully someone on the new 3 yd will come along and give better answers.

There is a quarantine up on facility D (formerly level 2) due to a shingles outbreak. Check the visiting line before coming to visit this weekend!
