I'm not sure if your able to send them......I wouldn't see why not though. To avoid any potential issues I decided to obtain Power of Attorney for my husband so that way I can handle all matters for him. Maybe that's something you can look into for your loved one. You can obtain the forms online and have him notorize it from in there.

Good luck. Sorry I couldn't give you any sure answers.

Check the Inmate Mail policy on azcorrections.gov
I remember seeing something about tax forms but I didn't pay much attention at the time.

I know the first year Paul was in, his dad had "financial power of attorney" and signed all the forms. He also had to send a copy of the POA in with the taxes. Paul never signed anything for the IRS.

I would strongly suggest you sign the form on his behalf. If you send in the form ssu will more then likely stop it. Tax fruad is very big in prison, so I would not send in any forms. Just my suggestion.

Mail it to him blank, have him send it out with his signature, and you're set. I've done this multiple times with a variety of paperwork (even though I have POA the IRS sometimes wants a real signature, not just the POA) and it's been fine.
