Default Summit Program to close?

I heard recently that the DOC plans to close the Oregon Summit AIP Program on July 1st of this year. It was word of mouth - I haven't seen a written announcement. Anyone seen anything about it?

Talked to staff over at SCCI and it's not closing in july, but just relocating. DOC is moving the program to CRCI.

damn they are relocating? I wonder if the staff is coming, many there are e military and know the program. Also portland is going to have so many work crews. That program makes sense to be where it is now.

Here's the official information. The change occurs June 1, 2012.

The SUMMIT AIP at Shutter Creek Correctional Institution (SCCI) is being eliminated. The institution will become a regional releasing facility, which will provide focused education, job training, work, and transition/reentry services to inmates preparing to release.

Columbia River Correctional Institution (CRCI), located in Portland, will have a new AIP. It will be a cognitive restructuring program, which is designed to treat individuals with a high need for cognitive programming. The program will work closely with the department’s Behavioral Health Services in an effort to engage individuals with mental health diagnoses who are housed at CRCI.

I talked to the new coordinator today and it's roughly gonna be the same program but they are getting even further away from the boot camp aspect. The biggest change is there isnt going to be platoons/communities anymore, it's a one in one out type thing. The last intake day is June 12th at SCCI, but even that group will be transferred to CRCI with the program.
