Question Chances of a Early Release?

My Husband is now in the IMCC and he is waiting to see where he is going for prison. His counsler stated that his points are maxed out but when he gets classified he will be at medium points so she said that clarienda or fort dodge was a option. so thats good closer to home but his discharge date is july 2014 what are the chances of him getting paroled out again in a year rather then two and a half...i guess i just really want him home and i want opinions from people who have been through this.

It really varies a lot. Usually they say you won't get paroled on your first shot, but lately I have seen a lot of guys get it their first try when they have a short sentence (5 years or less).

You know what I have seen the list on the IBOP website looking pretty good the last few weeks-- I agree with SimplyMe123. Is your LO able to file for a reconsideration of sentence or is that not an option since he maxed out? You don't have to answer of course but that is the only thing that my LO is working on......

well i am not sure what a LO is but my husband got five years but his discharge date is 2014 and then he is done with the doc. So you guys thinking he might have a good chance after a year...being paroled? and is there any advice you guys can give me to help him get out...i know before he goes in front of the parole board i am sending seven parole letters. im just wondering what are the odds my husband has of getting out in a year and if there is anything i could do.

Oh, ha ha LO=Loved One from my books and it is general and helps to keep some anonymity in my book... and it is faster to type too! So the date is the same for my LO and if you check the IBOP(Iowa Board of Parole) and look through the reviews and the tabs you can see the amount of people getting paroled or denied. I have done a ton of digging around on websites. I have bookmarked IBOP, Iowa.gov, Iowa Dept of Corrections, Iowa Lawand Regulation, and more. If you want to get an email or a text regarding if your LO has been moved from Oakdale you go subscribe to IA Vine service. You get an email the day they get moved or if they get moved. It was really great I knew why he didn't call me for a day or two as he was being transported......good luck!
