Default What to say to my Brother-in-Law?????

Ok so my husband is currently upstate doing 12 years....yesterday I got a letter from my hubby asking me to write his brother, who is also locked up. I have never met him because he's been down as long as I've known my hubby so I'm speechless as to what I should say to him.....Any Suggestions?????

Does your hubby have a specific reason why he wants you to write his brother? I would start it off with, "I know we have never met, but _______ asked me to write to you". Then I would share with him how your hubby is doing, talk about family and basic stuff. If you get a response, you can go from there.

You might ask your hubby what he suggests you write about, since you have never met his brother.

Good luck!

Peace~

Well, then tell him his brother asked you to contact him and introduce yourself. Short and sweet.

In the past I have written to my man's incarcerated family members (2 cousins). I know them now very well but at the time we'd never met. I just introduced myself and told them how my man was doing. I asked how they were and told them some minor details about myself such as the kind of work I did, interests, etc. Then I closed with a line about my willingness to continue writing if they were interested. Both cousins and I wrote back and forth thorughout their bids. Best of luck.

I know exactly how u feel. Ive never met my future brother in law and my fiance asked me to write him. My first letter i had no idea what to say so it was short, i introduced myself and told him alittle about me and the kiddos, asked how he was doin, told him how my fiance was doin and sent him a few pics so he could see our children and i. After he started writing back we really hit it off, now we write and email a few times a week. (Nothing my man doesnt know about lol)
