Do you Photoshop?

So, an acquaintance asked for my opinion on some sexy pics she plans to send to her boyfriend. She showed me the pictures and, well, they look mighty different from the version I see of her. She Photoshopped the pics so that she would look way smaller than she really is. Let her tell it, everyone does it.

So, my question is, do you use an editing program when you're sending photos to your husband or boyfriend? If so, why? I guess I can understand removing a pimple or something, but making body parts look smaller or bigger?? How do you explain the difference when you visit or once he comes home?

Yes, I use photoshop on all my photos however to adjusts levels (lighting) and scale of actual picture or to turn it grey scale (color pix to a black & white pix). I do not alter what I appear to look like because my hubby knows and loves the way I look.

No but I wish I knew how! I wouldn't alter my size/shape etc. (no way to explain that since I see him often lol) I would just like to change to b/w add words etc. I want to lose 25lbs which he knows and since he's a workout/healthy eating fanatic, he's made up an exercise/food plan for me. Until I get it off in real life, it will be there. No point in me using Photoshop to fake it off!

LOL! I know a lot of girls that use Photoshop. I have been asked to alter many photos but that's up to them. I see it this way, they are the ones that have to deal with the disappointed look of their LO when visit day comes. I do not alter my pictures but I do remove background from our visiting pictures.

No and I never would. He knows exactly what I look like but if we were MWI I still wouldn't do it. At some point he will see you so why mislead him. I want him to love me for the person I am on the inside and accept and love the person I am on the upside. Believe me there's a few things I could Photoshop away but he loves me with my flaws just like I love him with his.

LOL at some of the responses! I was thinking it's just me who thought that was weird. I understand removing minor flaws, changing lighting, adding words or graphics. But come on, slimming your waist, making your butt look bigger and basically changing your whole body? She has a couple months before her boyfriend is released and there's no way she's going to be able to look like she did in the photos. I know people like to say looks don't matter (I disagree), but if I was a man and a woman sent me "fake" photos, I'd be pissed.

I do photoshop my pictures though either brighten them up, contrast, adding words, editing backgrounds! When he was in county I had pictures of us with a freaking glass separating us! Lol so I had a lot of time figuring out how to remove that glass between us and actually look like we were kissing lol of course I added a

One picture I "erased" all his tats and showed him and I said "see what I can do, I can probably erase some clothes off " lol

No I ink that's dumb to do it . He knows what I lo like , and what size I am , and he's going to see and touch that body when he gets out so why hide it now , if your ashamed of the way you look , shouldn't be sending sexy pics.

Exactly I don't think you should decieve anyone by photo. adding words and stuff is one thing but..all that enhancing stuff is for the birds.

Ok so first off. I am a photographer. SO in saying that knowing how to edit photos is a large part of that. But an edit can be a lot of things. What your talking about isnt what is classed as an edit. That is called a Photomanip. Which is a LOT different then editing hehe. But for the sake of this poll. I would say my photos of myself I send to my man. NO I dont edit them. Unless its taken in bad lighting, then I may just so a little sharpening, and adjusting the lighting etc. But not normally for photos Im sending him. He knows me well, and knows what I look like. As others have mentioned, that would just be stupid to edit a photo of myself making me look I dunno. Slimmer, or my skin smoother lol. Thankfully I have really nice clean, and smooth skin, so never have the problems with pimples or anything. But if I did.. I think it would all depend on where it was lol.. And how big it was, and how often I get them. Like if I get them all the time I wouldnt edit them out, cause well they are part if me. But if I just happened to have one at the time the photo was taken, but no longer have it. Then I may edit it out hehe. Again, depending on what it looked like though. As I am a big believer in, love me for who I am. If you dont like what I look like, then dont look. :P lol

Haha no!! I'm not trying to make him think i look one way and then when he comes home i look completely different. Adding words or whatever is fine, but changing the way you look is stupid! If he can't like you for the way you look then it's time to move right along

I totally agree! But I say, if you're ashamed of the way you look, do something about it.

I believe this girl has lost her mind. I asked her how is she going to explain the difference between the photos and her real body when he gets out (she hasn't been able to visit him for about 6 months). She said she's going to tell him she gained weight since taking the photos.

I take a pic with my phone, send it to my printer, print it out and put it in the mail. He gets it just the way it is. Like it or not. I'm too busy to try and figure out editing software. Not to mention, I have ZERO patience!

I want to learn. I want to get a picture of my husband and I but he will not let me take pictures of him in there.... I understand why but if I could photoshop him and get him into different clothes and blur the background, he migggggggght give in if I beg him enough.
We both don't want prison pictures, it's embarrassing.... But 6 more years to go... I am going to need some new pictures!

This what I want to do as well. I got excited when I saw this thread because I thought I was gonna get some cool tips an ideas on how to do that.

Everyday I look in the mirror and discover a new flaw. I don't wanna photoshop because I don't want my husband trying to cheat on me with me (or at least the altered me) LOL.

I would be tempted to do a photoshop tan instead of a spray tan,though he knows very well what I look like already.
I have to laugh at her thinking she wll just tell him she gained weight all the sudden.

That's an idea because he doesn't like me getting spray tans. He's convinced it will lead to problems later. I'm gonna ask hiim about this!

yes, but i dont use it to change my body or my face. when the person walks in the visiting room especially mwi's the game would be up. so, i just don't see the use of changing ones appearance. i love it though lighting and text, collages, etc.
