Got a letter!! Didn't say much. By the sound of it he has not got all our mail. I'm wondering with the moves, it just not catching up to him. He did say he noticed I wasn't at his sentencing.

Thank Heavens!!!! I check here all the time hoping to hear that you have had some word from your son. You are in my thoughts and prayers, always, and I am so glad that you got a letter. I hope that there will begin to be more regular communication in the very near future.

Oh, deedee, that is GREAT news! I'm sure that your mail hasn't caught up to him yet - what with his moving around and the length of time it takes for CA inmates to get letters. I hope this is only the beginning and that you will start to hear from him regularly. I'm sooo happy for you!!

I'm so glad you heard from your son!! That must bring so much relief. I hope your mail catches up with him soon and brings him comfort. And I'm hoping the mail keeps coming for you too! Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.

ANSWERED PRAYERS!!! THANK GOD!!! I am so relieved....I just know this is the first step in the direction of calls and visits!! I am praying that he is doing well....and adjusting...and that they are taking good care of him. MANY prayers from MANY people will continue for ALL of you. Just keep those letters flowing!
ENJOY this connection...even through the tears....
That long silence was just almost unbearable to think of....bless your heart.

you have been in my thoughts and prayers . . . .I haven't been on in a couple of days --I am so happy you got a letter - - My guess is that you cried and have read it several times. I'm sorry he hasn't gotten your mail and I have to say that kind of makes me mad. He has been through a lot and mail would have been beneficial to his mental and emotional state. (sorry for ranting) . ..enjoy the letter . . .and I am hoping more will follow! and hoping he will get your letters soon!

Oh what a relief! I am so happy to read your last post! I hope your male catches up with him soon. Lets hope this means he's in a better place mentally now and open the lines of communication. I bet now you want to see him in person and hug hug hug your son. I feel better knowing he's written you now too.

Thank you all. Today was my youngest granddaughters 1st birthday party. My ex daughter in law brought the kids and stayed for the party with the kids. After the birthday party all of our kids came to our house and went swimming all afternoon. Then my hubby bbq'd dinner. We all had a great time. My ex dil said she misses the family times and needs to be around us more. But I think when she see's my other sons with their children, it's really hard on her. out at the pool she said it makes her emotional remembering the good times with all the family. The kids had the letter from their daddy here. I gave it to her at the end of the day. She said she couldn't read it now, she knew she'd fall apart. She said the kids have made him lots of pictures but she had not mailed any because she didn't know where he was for sure.

All in all, it was a good day.

Oh Deedee, I am soo very very thankful that you had a good day! I hope you have many many more!! I can just see all of you enjoying the day...the artist in my mind painted a beautiful picture of the day!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! And 1st birthdays are soo much fun...so cute! I'm glad that the kids are making pics...and now the ex knows where to mail them!!

So glad to hear you had a good day, deedeee. I hope there will be more of those good days to come. Btw, I hope you're still asking your son to send signed visiting forms. Now that he has written to you, maybe he'll include the forms so that you can get them turned in. The sooner they are approved, the sooner you'll be able to visit him. Even if he is sent to another prison, your approved applications should be good for anywhere he is sent. Keeping my fingers crossed that he sends them soon!

dee dee -- I don;t think your messages are junk - -I want to hear how things are going - -you are in my mind and prayers daily - -so keep the messages coming! so glad that you were able to celebrate your granddaughters birthday! enjoy those special days. they make the other days tolerable

I got one deleted on your thread. I said "Oh, thank God!" in response to your having received a letter from your son. I guess I broke a rule, I'll have to re read them.

Just thought I'd drop in and see how your all doing. I'm trying to stay busy. Really misses my sons. I photographed twin boys yesterday for their 1st birthday. I started photographing their mom when she was pregnant with them. Then I've done the boys every month since birth. Doing their 1 st birthday brought a flood of memories with my boys.

Many people judge member’s credibility based on post count, so we ask that you obtain your post count legitimately. Furthermore, free/junk posts add up over time and waste server space and ISP bandwidth unnecessarily. Threads announcing your post count are considered free posting. Free/Junk post repeat abusers may have their post count severely reduced by PTO administration.

I realize that some people do not have the Thank You button (seems the phone app does not have all the normal features) but simply saying thank you, and not contributing any further to the converstation is considered a junk post.

Oh Heck No! I've read every single post in this thread and not one of them have I thought they were junk. I think we were all sitting on the edge of our seats waiting for your son to write you and now that he has it's been better. I loved hearing about the birthday party

I'm sure it is bitter sweet for the DIL. I've been wondering about your daughter, is she still out and about, not at home? I do hope she is staying in touch at least.

So....just saying thank you indicating you appreciate the response given by another member could be considered junk?

I am a bit confused and afraid to thank now... sometimes I just read and thank because it is overwhelming...or because what has been said is spot on... and I don't want to be repetative...or am short on time.

I understand the credibility issue - not having ever really looked at it that way myself however, and I understand the junk as in posting a reaposne that offers nothing...

And now I am wondering if this post will be moved as it is not relevant to the original thread??

Still getting the hang of this awesome sight!

No, it's not saying thank you, its taking time and space to write it out rather than using the little button at the bottom that says "'thanks"'. Sort of like when you get an email, and the first 50 pages are from others who received it and wrote "LOL!"" or "Thanks!"" I've seen your posts, and they are wonderful, and relevant, not to worry!

I don't see a thanks button on my iPad or iPhone.
