Hello and to The Love Your Inmate in May Swap 2012!


Before you may participate in this swap, or any for that matter, you must first read and acknowledge the updated policies thread which can be found here. You will not be able to participate if this is not done! I would also recommend printing out the card swap flyer and sending it to your loved ones if you have not already done so.


Please read this message in its entirety, as it will thoroughly explain what you need to do and hopefully answer most, if not all, of your questions. At the end there are some helpful tips to ensure that our loved ones are getting mail!


Please start sending me your loved ones info now! Do not post their info in the public forum! All names need to be submitted to me by 28th April. You lists will be distributed no later than 2nd May. That gives you all of May to get your cards to our family and friends. Please remember, it is required that you send a minimum of 3 cards for every 1 name you submit. If you can send more than the required amount, let me know in your pm.

When you send your pm, please do so in the following format:

Subject Box:
Title of swap you are participating in

Message Box:
Number of cards you are sending
Your screen-name and Your relationship to inmate
Inmate’s name and number
Prison/Jail address
Message to your loved one
If you need an address to use as your return address

Yes, all of the information needs to be in your pm. It makes it a whole lot easier on the hostesses if the format is followed. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Helpful Tips

*Do not send any stickers on cards or envelopes. Some prisons do allow it but most do not.

*Use your name and complete return mailing address. Mail can and will get thrown out if there is an incomplete return address. If you do not want to use your own address, there are members willing to let you use theirs.

*If and when you receive a thank you letter from a person, and they wish to have further correspondence with you, one of the following two options are preferred:
~If you are unable to write that person back, let the OP (original poster) know so their loved one is not sitting around waiting for your reply.
~If you are able to write that person back, again, let the OP know and make sure if it is okay for you to respond.

THIS IS NOT BECAUSE OF JEALOUSY, IT IS JUST OUT OF RESPECT

For Florida, Missouri, Oklahoma Inmates

Please do NOT mention getting their info on the internet. To let the inmate know who you are, just tell them you are a friend of the PTO member who posted them.

Example: Hello. I am a friend of your girlfriend. She said.....

If you are listing an inmate from any of these states, please realize you are putting them at risk. IF anyone sending cards to them mentions this site or their info came from the internet, they are the one who gets in trouble. These are the only three states that are known for this rule, however, this is good practice for ALL states the way regulations are always changing!

I had a dream there was a Holiday,
A day made just for inmates, our loved one far away.

I dreamed we walked together beneath a sky of blue.
We saw the stars shine brightly. I saw you smiling too.

We walked until the sun rose and on into the day
Two friends sharing every thing, one lovely day in May.

I saw you laughing happily, just walking you and I.
So, so endless, time seemed to just fly by.

When in life we find that very special friend
Even though we are separated, we hope the friendship never ends

Some times we cant show it and yet we feel we must
show that someone our faith our hope our trust.

And then when I awoke and found that it was true
I had to send a card to share this love with you.

Hey Dona... since I've moved, I haven't been able to get home internet service I live too far out in the boonies now, , but think I'll have it by the end of this week. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

I'm back!! Sorry to have been missing in action - I've been having problems with my home computer and wasn't able to use my work one either but I think it's all sorted out now. I've got all the names up to this point and I should be able to check in daily from now on.
