Default Looking for parole information

My son is meeting with an OCI P.O. to discuss his parole options, he is serving 18 months. He has completed one third of his sentence. Does anyone have advise for him to move forward in the parole process? He has been told by guards and staff he shouldn't go for parole now because they would not support it at this time. Do they have this kind of influence over his parole? This is his first time in prison, I am looking for information to help him make the right decisions in the parole process. Staff and guards don't always have your best intentions in mind when giving an inmate advise. Any help or insight would be much appreciated.

Regards, Wolfy

google corrections canada provincial parole applications for info (can't post the link here). I do think that staff have influence on parole decisions, especially the report of the institutional parole officer.

He has to do a year? How much does he have in? If he does what the guards say then when or how much would he have in? Does he feel like he will past everything not mess up? If it ment th at say it would mean 2 months less off. By the time everything said @ done.l would tell him to wait it out.No disrespect, ment want to save it,if he has any intent on doing something again.Have a good one
